Autumn watches

I know it isn’t that deep fam….. but I did some thinking and put together a “ three Watch collection” autumn addition. While these aren’t the only watches that I’ll wear for the fall, I can certainly see myself gravitating to these more so during this time of the year then the summertime for one reason or another.

The seiko speedtimer has a lot of versatility in terms of strap options and is something I can just grab in those chilly mornings. Paired with leather jackets and hoodies and I’m ready to go

The citizen pro diver also has some versatile strap options but I do prefer to use the black rubber strap. It’s super comfortable and I mean come on it just gives you those Halloween to thanksgiving vibes.

The Longines spirit Zulu is just a phenomenal watch. I may still be in the honeymoon phase BUT I’d love to try it on a rubber strap from Longines. With that said it’s probably one of my best time peices that I own so I have to add this to the list

Nice selection there!!

I got these 2 watches thinking that they’d be more cold weather watches, as unlike the rest of my collection they don’t have the best wr.

And this one just has more of an Autumn feeling for me.

Those three just work!

I almost got that Citizen diver you have but went with the more conservative black and gilt colorway. But secretly I wish I had gotten that one!

I considered the black titanium pro diver but went with the blue one on a bracelet. I wore that a lot on the summer

I find nothing wrong with a seasonal approach to sporting watches. Keeps things interesting to be honest.

I can dig it. Very nice trio my boy!!

I particularly like the Longines and the Citizen. Personally I’d ditch the speedtimer, I had one and sold it within a few weeks. I do understand the appeal though.

The Longines Spirit GMT is phenomenal.

Loving your Longines Sprit Zulu. Fantastic dial and the blue GMT hand really brings everything else into focus. Great quality for the price. Longines has turned the corner on being an underappreciated brand. #longines

If you dont mind me asking, why did you get rid of it/what if anything did you replace it with?

Agreed my watch collection has five longines in it and will likely have more in the future

No of course I don’t mind you asking and as with all things watches are about personal taste and mine will be different from someone else.

In summary.

I didn’t like the unnecessary, and IMO useless 24hr sub dial.

The date window was too deep, poorly positioned and (for me) to difficult to read the date.

I didn’t like the purple hue on the sub dials (I know it’s the solar cells) but the watch is clearly not a white(ish) watch with black sub dials.

The integration between the end links and case was poorly executed such that the end links almost seemed to be for a different watch.

I sold it and got a Certina DS-2 presidrive. It’s not solar but for me addressed all of the issues I had with the Seiko and also with a few seconds/year accuracy.

I truly have no idea why some Seiko watches are as popular as they are when viewed against alternatives.
