$5000 Budget 🎁 // +UPDATE
UPDATE: I wanted to get some unbiased opinions first — Thank you for all the comments and discussions. But now I’ll give a little more detail to my collecting style:
- water resistance 100m minimum
- no leather straps
- not the biggest chrono fan
- love limited editions
- interesting dials/complications/materials

I’m a very lucky man! I bought my wife a nice purse for the upcoming holidays and in return she told me she wants to buy me a nice watch. My budget is under $5000.
i’ve got plenty of ideas floating in my head for what watch would make the perfect present and fits the budget. But, I’m really curious to see what the WatchCrunch community thinks — Maybe you guys have an option I haven’t considered.
So the question is: What watch would you want for under $5000?
PLEASE — I want to hear all your suggestions and even why you chose that watch/model, etc. Thank you.

Haha. 😂 So true — tastes change all the time and new releases seem to drop every day. Good news… I only have about a week to think about it so that it gets here for the holidays.

Second, disclaim the budged is great but I think there are 2 important information missing, first what style of watch you like most? Diver, Dress, Everyday, Filed...
Also your wrist size will be a good thing to consider....

Sinn makes a great watch. I’ll look at the T2 — I’m not that familiar with it.

I’m trying not to give too many details — I want to keep my options open and not steer the voters. I have a 6.5-6.75 wrist.
That must have been one heck of an amazing purse lol.
I'm not a expensive watch guy but would take a look at the Black Bay Pro or a Omega Seamaster
I would vote for the Tudor BB chrono, getting a B01 movement for half the price here!

So I don't own this watch but if I had the same circumstances I'd consider the Longines Master Collection L2.629.4.92.6 Chronograph at 3k.

Very true — but the game is still fun. I’m new to WatchCrunch and I’m still feeling out the community. I’m m not sure if this is a Seiko fan-boy channel or a Rolex hype-beast channel, or a mix. My hope is a channel full of real watch fans that make informed decisions; thus, I pose a question and look forward to varied results.

Nothing in my collection comes close to this price range, so I'll just mention the two watches this year that made an impression on me. Both are over $5,000 retail so I'm bending the rules a little bit.
One was the Breitling B09 Chronograph. Everything about it is beautiful! It fit perfectly on my 6 3/4 inch wrist. A local Rolex shop carries this and the Breitling outshines everything in the store for me.
The second watch is the Grand Seiko SPGA415G Spring Drive. There is a Grand Seiko store in Boston that I keep finding ways to stop in and admire their watches. The Spring Drive movement and the artistry in this particular watch is impressive!
Now back to my regular budget & dreams. Thanks for the indulgence!

Great selection. I’m definitely a fan of alternative metals. Probably wouldn’t go true vintage. But a neo-vintage Cartier Roadster would be a fun alternative to your Cartier choices.

That’s a tough question — does a 1 & done watch exist? Haha. Not for this guy. But the Pelagos is a great option for it.

I’ll check it out. I used to own an aqua terra chronograph many years ago… I just never really fell in love with it. I’m not sure why.
