Need Suggestions

Hello everyone!

I'm looking to readjust my collection, and am looking for some suggestions

I currently have a Tissot PRX, black Casioak, and a Blue BB58. I find the Tissot PRX's crown quite difficult to operate for my fat fingers, and I have issues with the legibility of the Casioak. I have chopped both, and am now looking for something around the $1000 range which has good legibility, and can be used for more everyday scenarios (getting groceries, doing volunteer work). It will be the BB58's companion

Ideally it shouldn't be something with a very flashy dial. Legibility is my main concern.

I'm also looking for something that can remain nice even as my collection expands. I would want a watch that has its place even when it is sitting next to watches 10 times its price.

Edit: it doesn't have to cost the full $1000, if it's cheaper but meets these requirements that's great

Picking up on legibility and crown size.

The most legibility and biggest crown size for me is my Momentum. They have quite a range of watches and make great beater watches. Worth looking at their range, e.g. the Atlas is not as chunky as this.

If those don’t appeal you should probably be looking for a good field watch and there’s heaps of choice there. I like the Timor watches but they are a little over budget.

This gives me Hamilton Khaki Field vibes. I wonder how that would look like on a FKM or rubber strap. I see on your profile that you have one - is the crown easy to pull? And have you had a chance to try a fabric/rubber strap? Any pics??

I'll go ahead and suggest the beloved brand Nodus:

https://www.noduswatches.com/sector-field/p/sector-field-marina

Browse a bit and look at some of their other models.

Aragon..massive & bright 🌞 not a fan myself I must say !

·

Check out the Christopher Ward range. 👍

Damasko. Take a look at the site, you get a lot for your money, over engineered, and these are watches that are worthy of remaining in any collection.

The Nodus recommendation is sound and your Hamilton is also a great choice, I love mine.

The Glycine Combat Sub is also terrific and great value. It is larger than the Hamilton but it is thin and wears well and there are heaps of variations so you should be able to get one that suits your legibility criteria. For me it sits between a field and a dive watch.

I’d take a look at Echo/Neutra. At that price you could get one of their field watches with a moonphase complication.

They also do non pvd coated ones.

Combat Sub looking good …

Some sort of flieger would fit the bill. Designed for easy legibility and with a big crown for your fat fingers :)

Take a look at Laco, Stowa or Steinhart

I'm gonna recommend the Lorier Falcon again 😂.

Save the money towards some straps or something.

Swap the Casioak for a Duro on Jubilee.
