Hello, Watchcrunchers!
We are getting closer to the end of this project๐ป
Two days ago I received the stainless steel sapphire caseback. With this part, I can finally say that the case is complete!
what's missing and time plan:
Dial and Hands:
If everything goes smoothly, I should receive them around the end of April/ start of May
Front sapphire glass:
Before placing the order, I'm still considering if using the AR coating or not... I would appreciate suggestions from you.
In my mind I was considering without AR, but I still have to think about it.
Please tell me your opinion in the comments!๐
Definitive rubber bracelet:
I will leave this as the last thing to buy, but the material will be black rubber and a deployant clasp in stainless steel.
That's all for now!
As always, if you have questions or suggestions, I'm here๐ช
Ciao,
Patrick

Looks dope.
My $0.02: AR is very useful and pleasing in a watch (to me).
They say thereโs nothing new under the sun, but that case shape is new to me. Itโs reading as a sports watch (lugs and crown guard), but the shape suggests dress watch. I like that the GMT hand doesnโt dominate the watch, but I wonder if it will be hard to differentiate between it and the hour hand. Take that with a grain of salt, I realize youโre pretty far down the design road here. As for AR, like sapphire itโs just one of those things I always say yes to. Then again, I guess it depends on what your vision is here (had I been paying more attention, Iโd probably already know that). Iโd say AR unless you donโt think of this as a sports watch.
Anyway, it looks interesting.
Absolutely have AR!! Internal only tho.
I've got rid of quite a few because of lack of AR coating..

Hi @howmanywatches! thank you for your comment! I will dig more into this AR thing. I'm sure someone on the platform already made a poll or something similar. Thanks!

Thank you @thekris !
Actually, I had the same feeling with the GMT hand 2 weeks ago haha that's why on the technical drawings that I sent to the factory, there will be some changes.
How about a time only option?
Looking good. I say AR coating.

Thank you @Inkitatus! Good to know๐ช๐ผ

Could be interesting! but what would you put on the empty space left from the gmt numbers?

What about an engraves bezel? Engraving of various parts was popular in the early 1900s and if done right might look good as a bezel embellishment.
Are you planning on mass producing them (like a couple of 100 pieces) at some point?

As I said in some previous comments, sometime I find my self thinking about it๐ฌ But I should launch a crowdfunding campaign to get capital.. Anyway, right now this is a prototype and is not ready to mass production! If I have to sell something, the product must be perfect haha never say never! Could be fun to produce them in a small quantity
That's really nice looking! I'd be interested in a watch like that. very unique. Go with the AR.

Oh, nice idea!

Ahh those were the most difficult parts to design tbh๐
Love it as is .
AR I can take it or leave it so I'm no good to you there but personally I trust your judgement.

I donโt doubt it! The design youโve gone with is beautiful but itโs difficult to distinguish time telling at a glance or even a second ๐ตlol. Keep going mate cheers ๐ป
Yes indeed AR coating. You will be very disappointed when it is finished and you cannot read it at times!

Thank you for the feedback!
Wow just saw this and I think it's beautiful. I'd definately go with AR but I would probably add a contrasting colour for the GMT hand to differentiate it and perhaps a different coloured lume tip than the rest of the hands. Other than that I would buy one if the price was right.

@Bridge_Too_Far Thank you for the great feedback!
In reality, the hands should be more contrasted (I hope). Hours, minutes, and seconds will be polished silver while the GMT will be matte white. we'll find out as soon as I get the samples!

That sounds great! Hope it works out. Will be following your progress eagerly.
