New member of the Crunch community!

Hi Watch Crunch! Long time lurker first time poster. After a long time following WC I decided to come forward and share my watches!

The only rule I follow is that every watch must be associated with a memory or a life milestone, that means I will never sell or trade them.

Starting at the bottom:

  • Tissot PRS 200: gift from my godfather when I was a kid. I recall starting to wear the watch every day when I was around 14. My brother has a similar Tissot chrono with a white dial that I used to wear when I was younger. I hope to "steal" it when I come back home for Christmas and bring it home with me .

From right to left:

  • Seiko kinetic in titanium. Grandpa's watch, my grandma gifted it to me for my 30th birthday after noticing that I enjoyed watches. Must admit that a tear fell from cheek when I got the watch. Very fun to "wind", you need to shake the watch like a madman😂

  • Certina DS action diver 43mm. Graduation watch. Almost had a heart attack when I was at a festival and when checking the time I found out that my watch had disappeared. Fortunately it was sitting on the ground right next to me without the strap as both springbars broke (lesson learned: never tuse again a rubber strap with fitted lugs not made specifically for the watch). Now on a strapcode mesh strap.

  • Oris Big Crown Pro Pilot GMT Rega LE. "Masters watch". Big boy (45mm and 52mm L2L) that my parents gifted me after my actual graduation watch was stolen from my place while I was at work (Oris Big Crown Pro Pilot 41mm). I was sent the watch as a surprise to my place (I live abroad) during Covid lockdown when I wasn't at my best. Cheered me up and I now enjoy it very much. Difficult to find the right strap with the PVD case (tried around 10 before I found one that suited the watch) . Now sitting on a CNS leather strap.

  • G Shock GA2100. Gift to myself after going through Covid and quarantine. Originally the jellyfish version, after the case and strap started becoming yellow, I changed both with a metal case and a rubber strap from Aliexpress. Additionally changed the markers as the original black ones made the dial too boring.

  • Tissot PRX PM80 40 mm in blue. Gift from my GF (now wife to be) for my 30th birthday. Probably my most worn watch nowadays. Recently bought the rubber strap from Tissot in blue (haven't seen advertised anywhere, found out almost by chance)

  • Frederique Constant Classic Index: late gift for my 30th birthday from my parents. They originally gifted a seminar in Switzerland to assemble my own watch, but the only available option was a 42mm dress watch that looked really cheap (the seminar wasn't cheap by any means), so we agreed to chance it for a watch. About the watch itself, the only thing I will say is that it's a strap monster.

I'm waiting for my next milestone to add a new watch 😈. I'm relying towards a GADA with brown or green dial around 2k €. The ones on my shortlist are the new Longines Conquest (waiting for a mid size version), the Formex Essence 39 in green or CW Dune.

Any advice from the community will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading and sorry for the long post!

Cheers!

Bonus picture: the watches I'm brigining home for Christmas, great combo of casual and dressy.

Welcome!

Nice collection. I particularly like that you have 2 Frederique Constants, I think that brand gives you a lot for your money.

·

Lots of good memories and milestones attached to each piece. I’m starting to shift my collection in that direction — not just watches I like, but meaning and memory attached to them.

·

Awesome SOTC my friend. What an awesome 🤩 way to jump into the community. Welcome to WatchCrunch. 🎉😊🙌🏾

Great post. Better stories!

Great collection. I’ve got the Formex Essence 39 in green and love it. It might be my nicest looking and most comfortable watch. The special flexible case ensures that it always feels good on.

Oh very nice! Mind sharing a picture? I tend to wear my watches tight to the wrist and the suspension system caught my eye. Does it work as advertised? How is the on the fly adjustment (even if it's cool seems a bit flimsy to me)?

Unfortunately there is no AD close to where I live and the only info I got is from YouTube.

Actually got it on now, and yes the case works as advertised. I’m sure the Dune is a good watch as CW always makes a good watch, but I don’t think it’ll beat this.

First of all welcome.

As a GADA watch for around, die to less informationabout your preferences but knowing for 2K and compating to your collection and taste I would recommend a TagHeuer Calibre 5. Also a strapmonster as like the FC Classic Index.

Usually this watch is much more expensive but eady to find used for around or less 2K.

Nice watch! I went immediately to the TAG website to check it, only pity is that it only comes in black, silver or blue and I was looking for a pop of color (I've seen it also comes in green but I don't like 36mm watches... 😅)
