Collection of Watches

Hello Watch Crunch,

I been thinking buying for a while about my collection, I know that everyone has their own style. My main question is avoiding main brands like Hamilton, Omega, and Rolex to purchase Mirco brands or just getting cheaper watch ranging from $50-$700, is that more being cheap or is it about trying to get more for your money? I usually try to go my own way when making a choice on my watches. I just find that you can get good quality or style for cheaper. Many brands are creating panda and reverse panda for about a third of the price of the main brands. Just wanted to get a feel what people think about it.

You can still get into a few Hamiltons at your price renge. But there's a ton of micros out there with some very nice pieces in that range. I just dropped down from my usual $900-4,000+ for an Islander (is that considered a micro?) Under $400. Maybe not as nice as my Aqua Terra, but still very nicely finished.

Explore the micro market & get back to us with what you find. You might inspire me to look beyond my Omegas & Hamiltons.

I collect a wide variety of watches. Buy what you can afford and more importantly buy what you will wear. Just remember you have an iPhone that gives you the most accurate time, date, moon phase, chrono and can even chime every hour. Buy watches for your appreciation of the art, engineering, and craftsmanship. My advice would be save your money and buy something that makes you happy. It’s a lifelong hobby.

You say "more for your money". Im not sure that is accurate, when the time comes that you wish to move on they have no value. But that being said Watchdog said it best "Buy what you can afford and more importantly buy what you will wear" And certainly enjoy the hobby

I would definitely keep you guys posted if I do buy a micro brand watch.
