How Do You Feel About Sterile Dials?

Do you have to have a brand name on there? Is it okay for the watch say nothing on the dial? Would you buy a watch that is devoid of a brand name and wear it? I understand that some of us buy sterile dials for making our own custom watches, but I'm not talking about those, since we'll end up adding something in that void, thereby canceling the "sterility." I'm specifically referring to watches that are simply blank where the brand logo should be. *Assume that the movement, appearance and general build quality is acceptable.* I've seen some on AliExpress that look like nice watches but can't seem to get around that big blank space under the 12:00 position.

Honestly my attitude is this. I accept any variation and style of Watch that is out there and encourage anyone to weare anything as long as they are strapping on a watch. (Minus a straight up fake for my personal morals)Yes Apple Watches and Moonswatch included! I own both of those my self! Does that mean everything will make it to my watch box? No, but it doesn’t mean I can’t support a fellow enthusiast ✅

New Marathon Navigator Steel No Date is mostly sterile.

MKII Hellions and Crucible have the appearance of sterile due to utilization of black on black dial paint, so yea I'm ok with them! 👌🏻🤘🏻🤙🏻

I'm not a fan of sterile dials, even on military watches that were required to be sterile dials.

·

I do wear one. I don't think you have a choice with the B dial, but I would've gone for sterile anyway.

·

I love sterile dials!

Emboss the logo & specs on the caseback.

I’m not sterile I have 5 kids!!

Oh wait we’re speaking about watches!??

Ok I’m going back to sleep…

They almost always look better that way. Branding tends to declass a watch.

Oh the horror!!

I have one watch with a sterile dial, that I got early in my collecting. It convinced me that I really don’t like sterile dials

·

I like a sterile dial when it's coherent with the time period or purpose, ie mil-spec watches.

·

I have one because I felt this style can carry it off

I like the name of the watch brand on the watch or the logo. Now there are some brands that their brand name is so terrible that I wouldn't buy their watch and some companies that need to switch to a better way to put their name or logo on the watch. I on the whole just appreciate watches. I have an 80s complete fashion watch and I love it the Bulge Boy logo probably could have been done a lot better but I'd rather have it on there than not. Sorry if I have shown off this watch too much lately it's just such an unexpected favorite of mine now.

I really like option D. 😂 Can I get extra fry sauce as well?

·

I'm fine for a Flieger, it's how they came originally. But for others, I'm not a fan.

·

I’m almost always good with vintage military style watches without a logo, since original examples were rarely branded.
