A No-Brainer!
I was perusing one of my secret honey holes for undiscovered deals and saw this running Swiss Gruen Precision Automatic.
Normally I'd think, "Cool vintage watch, probably from the mid-70's, lots of them out there." Then I saw it was gold plated. ✨ Not only the case but the Speidel band too! It's stamped! That was new, I've never seen a real gold plated Speidel band before on a gold plated watch. That was it, I had to have it. I like shiny.
Today it arrived.
The band was already sized perfectly for my wrist! All of the gold is intact, both case and band. Shockingly, no wear, even on the underside of the band, where one's wrist meets the table. I took it apart, tidied up the dial with some Rodico, and polished the crystal and case. It looks like a brand new watch in person:

Thanks! There's a tiny bit of excess lume on the end of the hour marker (verified under a microscope with UV) but that's cool, just adds to the charm. And it's hardly noticeable.
Is it literally a Spiedel brand expansion band, a Twist-o-flex? There were other makers, although this does have the signature look.

Yep, just looked to confirm, "Speidel USA" stamped on the underside of this twisty band, which is stainless. The sides and tops are gold plated. Again, never seen a Speidel like this.
I polish my crystals with a battery-operated (read: weak, non-aggressive) Dremel-like tool and of course trusted Polywatch. 👍
