State of the (not really a...) Collection

Do five watches make a collection? They're all too similar to be a collection, right? And I haven't bought, ie collected any for a couple of years now...

3 o'clock lume. Life Saver? Or afterthought?

So several years ago, Seiko added a 3 o'clock lume plot to their diver dials to comply with the ISO 6425 safety rating. I assume ISO changed the rules because the plot wasn't there before. But this lu...

What's the strategy?

Some watch fans have very firm ideas about how watches should be collected. Theirs is the best way, no discussion and if you disagree, you're wrong. But here on Crunch, I think we're a more varied and...

Me too. Is this all part of "the journey"... to collect lots of watches, then reduce them to a manageable number?

I have five left. Ironically, my SKX007, the watch that started it all, is still my favourite. Within a year or two I may only have the SKX left. Perhaps the true watch connoisseur has no watches left at all. 😀

A serviced movement, a new case and a story to tell. Result. 😉

Yeah, all of them. Plus the good photos, even if I don't care for the watch.

And yet we keep buying them. 😠

If you're new to the game, I would suggest you hold off. Otherwise, there's a chance that every time you look at it you'll think "Well, it wasn't EXACTLY what I wanted..."

Check out Chrono24 and eBay to find out what a good deal is. And, as many here will attest, you might find that the research, the hunt and the wait are as rewarding as the purchase. There's no hurry. 😎

Steve would probably alternate between the black and tan. Great catch. Congratulations! 😎

What's medium, about 100g? A diver on a strap, not a bracelet. Unless the diver is small and the bracelet is jangly and light. Yup, +/-100g is my middleweight goldilocks perfect.

I don't know what lightweight scrote cream is and I too scared to ask. 😮

The SKX is dead. Long live the SKX.

This is a love story. ❤ My SKX007 dates back to the year 2000. It's a great watch. Over the years I've bashed it up and I've had to replace the bezel...

What's the REAL value of your watches?

I dropped this comment on a two week old thread by @Duggy001 about God Tier Casios. But maybe it deserves to be a post. I have two Casios, see below....
