Seiko you have annoyed me 😡

Hello Watch friends 🙏🏼

Well I got my Seiko “Arnie” Anniversary Edition a few months back and it’s beginning to annoy me that the bezel doesn’t line up 🤯 With Seiko been such a big brand why can’t they get this right?

Thank you Ben

Pop it out and align it

That’s so annoying. A watchmaker can fix this for you though. Had similar on a Steinhart.

Shouldn’t have to though, it’s Seiko! Thank you for the suggestion 👍🏼

How? 😊

Unscrew shroud and it will be the same with any bezel … had this mod and pretty much same mechanics…

Oh it’s dangerous 🤯 or should I say I’m dangerous 🤣

And yet we keep buying them. 😠

I feel for you. Any time piece has the minimal expectation of a certain degree of precision as they have actual markers on their dials, etc. To fail this is unacceptable, however, some can live with this vagueness and, like Jazz music, find appreciation in the fluidity between notes . . . or in this case, moments between markers. Seiko seems to be fine producing near watch-like objects but we don't have to be okay with their tune.

Bro you make it sound so easy 😳😂

·

That's a huge mis-alignment 🤯 Sorry you're having to deal with that. I feel ya Bro 🤙🏽 get it repaired it you can't do it yourself.

·

Buy an Orient. They have better QC. Funny thing is Orient is owned by Sieko Corp. Lol

·

Plenty of methods on YouTube to remove the bezel insert and reposition it, with or without popping the bezel out. It's a very easy fix if it bothers you this much.

·

It makes sense if you think about it. Tudor also has a similar issue. Pump out 3000 watches probably more for Seiko and out of those 3000 watches sold only 100 have OCD. That's a low number to be concern about. I work closely with events department and if out of 100 to 300 attendees we know 5% will not show up and under 5% will complaint about the food or sitting arrangements or drinks etc. So for us that's a win. I bet for Seiko if the number is under X amount they are ok with it. Obviously is not ok but they rather swap, fix, exchange a watch since they offer warranty vs pumping out less watches for a closer tighter QC just how corporations work.

I’m saying nothing…

Very annoying on a cheaper watch and the Arnie not particularly cheap. I tried sulking and that doesn't work for me. I guess the YouTube tutorials worth a shufty. Good luck and hope you get it sorted. I would be nervous about buying a Seiko online because of their QC issues nowadays, or at the very least know the returns policy. The reason is we put up with it when we should just send them back until they do something about it.

Hahaha … for the record I didn’t say it was easy lol 🤣

·

Honestly I’d have been surprised if it was aligned properly.

My Tudor is PERFRCT, my steeldive (£69) Ali express is PERFECT, just don’t get Seiko, but like you say churning the numbers there will always be a production quality problem

That’s super annoying - I agree and I’m primarily a Seiko colkector. I guess what keeps me safe is I buy fewer and only the 3k and up models, being the nut 🥜 that I am 🤪

If from a dealer - get warrantied, or ask him to fix?

If private sale, return it, or send it to Dr. @Ichibunz for some TLC of the itchy kind. 👨‍⚕️🥼🩺

Congrats Jerome, I’ve just elevated you to head of WatchCrunch bezel re alignment! 😃
