NWA - Lesser known Grand Seiko

The purchase was not planned. I am unsure of how it happened, but after stumbling across the reference at random it was suddenly shipped.

I have always liked Grand Seiko, and have watched countless hours of YouTube content. Recently, I realized content creators tend to cover the same references which led me to searching for lesser known models. I discovered how many references i had never heard of, such as my newest aquirement the sbgx333.

Some criticize brands that do many limited runs, but in my opinion it makes collecting more fun. After all, there are degrees of limitation. Producing hundreds and thousands units enables brands to experient without committing to heavily, and they are still pretty available.

In GS there are so many JDMs and lesser known GS models that have recieved little or none coverage by content creators. Do any of you people have any references you would rather keep a secret? What do you think of GS limited runs?

As a self-confessed Grand Seiko fanboy, the more the merrier as far as I’m concerned. Recently picked up a SBGX337 dive watch; JDM. So many models to keep me happy. Congratulations on your purchase, looks stunning 😍

That’s really pretty. Enjoy.

As far as referrences I’d keep secret, that’s not my style (anyone who wants can have any one of my recipes).

Where limited editions are concerned, I guess they can do what they think makes business sense. After a while, the unlimited number of limited editions has started to feel akin to clickbait.

As for JDMs, they are indeed a fun hunting ground for those of us outside Japan. I love my SBGX295, and was happy to find a relatively inexpensive way to buy my first GS.

Of course, I take all my happy vibes back where SBGV245 is concerned. It was so hyped during its brief run that it’s now impossible to find without having to buy used at what I consider too big a markup. Oh well.

Agreed! With the asking prices of sbgv245,

I doubt they are actually changing hands that often.

Was holding your model beside my SBGW303 when I was buying it. Really great watches 😍 was also an unplanned buy and I have zero regrets! GS is just amazing in the metal, the pictures and videos don't them any justice

That is a lovely looking watch 😍

·

I love GS and love limited runs ! My issue is above my price range 😭

Beautiful porcelain-white dial! Like a stark elegance amidst a sea of dystopian machination.

That is a beautiful looking watch 🥰

I have the sbgx331 on my for a dress watch, but this white dial is stunning.

·

Its a stunner. I bet the hands are polished so high that you wouldn't even need lume to read it at night!

·

I came across this reference too only last week! I've had the 331 on my radar for over a year debating with myself lol. It's such a beautiful design, congrats 👏🏻

Did consider the 331 myself actually. Could never tell if the dial is silver or champagne?

It is actually a mother of pearl dial! However the luster is really subtle. Love how the devil is in the details with GS!

·

Very nice, usually when I think of GS it's that particular angular case design they've stuck with, nice to see something a little different.

Where did you buy it? I love it,but I couldn't find it for sale as new.

Thank you for your response! 333 is currently the highest-ranking goal for me, with 331 in the second place. How do you feel about the "white mother-of-pearl" effect? Can it be understood as a white surface? Will there be complex light appearing, and is the surface flat?

I'm planning to use a steel strap, and if I decide to go with the 331, I'll still switch to a steel strap. So now I'm torn between the dials. The 333 white dial seems stable and error-free to me, while I haven't seen the dial in the light champagne color of the 331, so I'm not confident about it.

I guess the degree of how much mother of pearl effect there is will differ from watch to watch. Mine has very little effect, which I appreciate. I would consider the dial as white, with some luster coming into play in full sunlight.

I considering the champagne dial as well. I opted for the white dial because it is the most versatile. Ofcourse they both are versatile, but white really goes with any outfit and any color strap if you would want to try something else than the bracelet.
