I only started my watch journey in December, 2021. A friend recommended I start with Long Island Watch. I had a few questions so I emailed Marc on a Saturday afternoon while sitting at home in Hawaii. Surprisingly I got a response in about 20 minutes. I decided on the ISL-02, which I bought myself for Christmas. Last year I bought a Seiko and a Laco from Marc. Long Island Watch is my first stop when I'm shopping. If Marc sells it then he's getting my business. And, his YouTube channel is great, too.
I find myself wearing the Casioak more than I thought I would when my son gave it to me. It's super light and I often forget I'm wearing it. Since it's a G-Shock I don't have to worry about beating it up or adding scratches like I frequently do with my watches on bracelets. I have the GA-2100-1A1 which has aqua blue hands which offer a nice, easy to read contrast with the dial. The only criticism I have is about the recessed pushers. They are small and I find it a bit challenging to set the time.
I love my Laco Aachen in a 42mm case. I especially love the big authentic dial and the fantastic lume. I got this Marc at Long Island Watch for $410. The watch comes in a really nice zippered case, too.
