Aloha, I'm new to collecting and looking for an everyday watch under $1000 I can wear with a suit. I like the Tissot Gentleman, but would appreciate other recommendations. Mahalo! ๐ค๐ผ

Welcome! I think you have a great choice under 1K! You can always look at Seiko and Citizen. Shinola has options. ย I tossed on a Victornox today under 1k . Hamilton has a lot of options as well.. They have solid watches from $500 plus to right at1k
Hard to beat the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80.
Go to Long Island Watches. ย Search for >$600. ย Tons of options: ย Watches $600 and Up | Island Watch (longislandwatch.com)
Seiko presage line will be friendly ย for your budget .. tissot prx as wellย

I love Islander watches. I bought myself an ISL-02 for Christmas and now I'm hooked. Thanks! ย
H70455133 Hamilton Khaki Field Auto
Seiko Sarb033 if you can find one
I have both and they're great
$1,000 is a great budget and gateway to so many watches, I would recommend looking at:ย
Squale?
Too broad a range, this is going to turn into a free-for-all, and lots of Seiko will be mentioned.
Farer Erebus
790GBP
39.5mm diameter, under 11mm thick, 45mm lug to lug, 5ATM, Sellita 200-1
The ย white-dialled โResoluteโ version has lumed indices/hands
Check out the Christopher Ward C63 Auto. The black, or blue versions would likely be the most suited to dressing up, but they also make a green and white dial version.ย

You can buy thisย
AAA Replica Daytona for $699.00 and people may think you spent ten times that much. Available at https://www.watchesbuy.to/shop/rolex-daytona-40mm-116523-78593-mens-silver-tone/
Read my mind, although I do like a Christopher Ward which he can get for under a grand with the discounts their always offering ๐
Either way he can't go wrong

That would be my pick, although I'm biased owning one already ๐คฃ
Tissot PRX most definitely !ย
Check out Certina. They have a wide variety under $1000 and they punch way above their weight.
Why buy one when you can buy two... or three? ๐คฉ You can also probably find a Tag Heuer Formula 1 Quartz if you shop around for $1k or less!
This Baltic MR01 absolutely blows my mind for the price. Here is a great picture from โA Blog to Watchโ. Iโll also link the article.

Iโd posit Glycine here. Many of the Airman, Combats and Combat Subs can be had in the $600 range. ย Can take a beating and they look good.
I think a pilots watch from Stowa or Laco works with a suit. Especially one that isnโt too thick and has a type A dial.
I am sure Tissot Gentleman, PRX, Longines Conquest, Hamilton Khaki were mentioned. Love all of those watched but would also consider Seiko Alpinist!
Thanks for all of you comments.
