I was wondering that myself! Got an email from Jomashop advertising Rolexes without any waitlist! How is this happening?

These sites have been hoarding Rolex inventory for months artificially propping up secondary prices but with the flood of watches out of Asia (particularly China) you're seeing nearly all online gray dealers now selling their inventory and reducing prices. Some may even be going into the red. Cash is king right now.

Very easy, all the backpack dealers with no room to hold need to unload. that is where Joma comes in.

I think it's been pretty well covered that grey market dealers have been sitting on a lot of Rolex stock, and that they have been trading among themselves to buoy prices.

Rolex makes more watches per year than Hamilton... Hamilton are a dime a dozen at grey retailers, why did people imagine Rolex stock wasn't sitting?

For some perspective, Tissot sells about 1.5 Million watches a year, and they cost far less than the cheapest Rolex. There are Tissot watches everywhere... Rolex sells ~1 Million watches, and they are as rare as hen's teeth? Something doesn't add up.

The flaw in your comparisons is that no one is buying Hamiltons, or Tissot for that matter. The supply exceeds demand.

The Air King hasn’t seen quite the demand as the more popular Rolex steel models. The Joma price is inline with Chrono24 price history, which has declined in the last few months.

I looked at the Joma prices for GMT II’s, still way up there, although coming down. I’m sure the investors, flippers, or grey market people are looking to get out soon. If a true recession hits, they wont be selling at retail even..

The bubble seems to be bursting and everyone is trying to sell off all that they have hoarded when they can still get good prices for them.

I totally agree that the grey dealers are trading internally to control the market and the demand. Serve them right.

easy way to answer that question - got look at all the rolex dross jomashop sells - all those ladies watches that will never sell.  Thats the price jomashop pays to get access to the good stuff.
