I wear a watch to time my existence. Own a daily / diver, a dress watch and a French smartwatch. Might get another watch, but risk then becoming a collector...
I got this watch for two reasons: 1) to add a different type of watch to the collection and 2) to wear with a specific strap with a personal connectio...
Just to complicate things: why not do the following?
Get [ instead of milgauss] an omega rail master (or the aqua terra >15000 gauss)
AND [instead of oyster] a Tudor black bay (or gmt, or another line),
AND/OR [instead of explorer 2] grand seiko sbgm245 (or orient starseeker sdj00002w0).
My point is: you can wear much more of the watchstyles that you like if you refrain from the safe and expensive default. I understand Rolex eludes 'class' and 'accomplishment' for people, and this OK, be happy and be you! But Rolex remains a (heavy branded) tool watch. If you like watches, be adventurous. You can always trade up for a Rolex later !

If you can agree that the reputation of a brand gives value [to a watch], there is no problem. Historically, a brand is used to communicate some kind of quality control and certainty about its heritage/production. It would be stupid to act like a brand means nothing in this world. Does that mean you have to value brand A over an unknown brand ? No. Does that mean brand A is better than X just because of the brand? Also no. It is a free world so you get to make your choice about your watch. Whether you care about the opinion of others is also up to you. You have the right (not) to care about any attribute, such as water-resistance or brandvalue. Just as any other person is free (not) to value it.
Case looks like new, beautiful watch! How are the specs? Do you have to handle it with care, or is it a solid watch you care wear without too much worry?
Great watch, build to last. The bracelet has room for improvement but otherwise, a very enjoyable experience.
Certina is very prominent in Scandinavia, and respected among divers (even though serious divers tend to use other equipment than watches, to my understanding).
