What would you do?

So, in the summer I bought my Sinn U1 - partly because I’d hankered after one for a while and secondly to celebrate my contract being extended for 12 months at work. Then the black FXD came out and I’m smitten. I’ve already decided that if my contract is extended / made permanent then I’ll get one this summer. However, there is a price increase coming adding £100 to the ticket price. I also have the money stashed aside for should my contract not be renewed….. so should I hang on and stick to my plan / dip into my savings to buy before it goes up / buy it and then sell the U1 to recoup a significant slice of the cost…..

Confirm the contract and keep the U1.

I wouldn’t rush and force a purchase over £100. Better to be patient and see what 2024 brings!

For as much as I would like to tell you to buy it, I think the wise thing would be to wait till the contract is confirmed.

Largely my thinking but every time I see one…..😬

Buy it now , keep the Sinn and hang the consequences...

Fancy asking irresponsible watch enablers for advice 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻

The intrusive thoughts are winning again.

I am a fan of the buy and resell method but I do not purchased watches at this expense. If it’s not a burden get it and you won’t be dissatisfied

On something like this, I just don't think $100 is enough money to change what seemed like a well considered plan. You could use it as an excuse to reconsider, but I'm not sure it really changes anything all that much.

Don’t listen to me I’ve just got the Tudor black bay GMT before the price goes up 🙈🤣

·

100 pounds is a fart in a jacuzzi when a livelyhood or a luxury purchase is in question. Just you wait.

·

If your desperate to buy, get it on interest free finance, then pay it off in full if your contract is extended,at least you still have your lump sum

·

IMO, if £100 is the breaking point then you shouldn’t buy it either way

·

Me?! Buy it now!! Life is too short!! Enjoy it …

Also don’t listen to me… I’m irresponsible …

😜

Keep the U1! Sinn is a great brand and very much a unicorn. Lots of street cred in the community. All collectors should have at least one German watch: NOMOS, Sinn, Lange.

·

Buy pre owned.

I have never seen a U1 in person but I sure do like them. I have the black FXD and it is a great watch. My current favorite. I say wait. The price increase should not mater. The new question is why am I not wearing the FXD today.

@MrYoung74 stare at the light.

You can get a discount on new tudors so just haggle harder

·

Buy it second-hand!

It’s not a breaking point, just made me wonder if I move it up the list of ‘things to do’….. 👍

Buy it second-hand!

They’re going for more on the used market than new…..😬

Thanks all! You’ve reinforced where I think I was. Wait until the contract is sorted (or not!)…… thanks for the input!
