Reviewing the Bulova Lunar Pilot: A Timepiece for Space Enthusiasts! ๐Ÿš€

The Bulova Lunar Pilot is a special watch that pays homage to a historic moment - when it accompanied astronauts on their journey to the moon. Let's take a closer look at this timepiece that captures the spirit of space exploration.

Design: The Lunar Pilot has a classic and functional design. It features a sturdy stainless steel case with a black dial. The bright white hands and markers contrast nicely, making it easy to read the time at a glance. The date window at three o'clock adds a practical touch.

Movement: Inside the Lunar Pilot beats a quartz movement. This means it's powered by a small battery, which keeps it running accurately without the need for winding.

Durability: One notable feature of the Lunar Pilot is its robust build. It's made to withstand tough conditions, which is essential for space missions. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal adds an extra layer of protection, keeping the watch looking sharp.

Comfort and Strap: The watch comes with a comfortable black leather strap. It's well-made and fits nicely on the wrist. The traditional buckle clasp ensures a secure fit.

Special Features: One standout feature of the Lunar Pilot is its tachymeter bezel. This allows for quick calculations related to speed and distance, which can be handy in various situations.

Historical Significance: The Lunar Pilot holds a special place in space history. A Bulova watch was worn by astronaut Dave Scott during the Apollo 15 mission, making it the first privately-owned watch on the moon. This legacy adds a unique aura to the watch.

Value for Money: Considering the quality, heritage, and special features, the Bulova Lunar Pilot offers excellent value. It's a piece of history that you can wear on your wrist.

Conclusion: The Bulova Lunar Pilot is a watch with a captivating history. Its simple yet functional design, along with its durability and special features, make it a timepiece worth considering, especially for those with a passion for space exploration. It's a tribute to a momentous event in human history, and a fitting accessory for any space enthusiast.

Love the accuracy and convenience of the Lunar Pilot's movement, although I prefer mine on a tropic strap.

Got to have it on the NASA velcro strap with the Apollo 15 Serial Numbers. Feels right to me

I have the version on the bracelet which apparently has larger spring bars which are impossible to remove. Granted I love it on the bracelet which was my intention to purchase, but pics like these make me wish it was easier to have strap options.

I can dig it.

How ever

For me itโ€™s this space grave curved edge metal buckle that tickles me silly. Had to fight tooth and nail to get it on but boy when I didโ€ฆ

I was with you but I lost you at tropic strap. But I guess itโ€™s a good thing we all like different styles of straps. Way more fun that way ๐Ÿ’ฏโœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‰

The bracelet on the 43mm version is quick release. So a big difference, there.

Itโ€™s got an interesting story thatโ€™s for sure. That the company forgot they supplied a one off watch that was worn on the moon and only realised what they had done when the original went up for sale

I think they also recreated it right by going quartz and making it more affordable than a one for one remake. Interesting story nice watch and a great entry into moon landing history ๐Ÿ‘

It's a really cool watch, this thing rocks any bracelet/strap you put on. It's still cool even with the boring original strap that I still wear because I just can't decide with strap to put on it!

To me, it's a fascinating timepiece and I love it. I can manage to pull it off on my Itty Bitty 6.5 inch wrist with a NATO or NASA Velcro.

Nice review and I love mine. I think you missed a trick in not mentioning that it is a Precisionist movement and super accurate. ๐Ÿ‘

Thank you. Yea itโ€™s a really good watch for sure.
