The date wheel is also instantaneous, but back and forth complicate things, must be a unique module or even movement then. Congrats on not only a beauty, but also unique movement.

The bracket statement is the problem, the material and finishing cost more than the bygone era. And those watches were not cheap either if you use gold valuation, not inflation.
That one is a knock off of corum bridge movement, there is no skeletonization in that, they just pack and stack all the gears together, the posted watch is customize skeletonization work perhaps with the finishing to complement. Chinese has their own well respected brand as seagull and beijing watch with their own derivative of ubiquitous european watch movement. Still great they manage to get the bridge movement together and working.
