Finally pulled the trigger on a omega, now I can't afford the latest models and to be honest I'm now more into vintage watches especially if they've got a an uncommon movement. So I got a vintage omega Geneve f300hz and very nice it is too ๐
Very nice. And the radiant brush on the bezel is not polished away. Even nicer๐
Its in amazing condition for its age, still has original crystal and crown. Glad I spotted it on eBay most of the other ones were not as clean and more money. Right place right time as they say ๐
That looks very cool ๐ What's the story behind it? I haven't seen that model before.ย
They were made in the 70's and early 80's using the tuning fork movement made under license from bulova. It has a sweep second hand like a grand seiko. Longines and a few others also made them. Very accurate watches which make a humming noise if you put watch up to your ear.ย

I think that's why I'm getting more into vintage, I like the designs and the smaller size, but you can get a lot of bang for ya buck compared to new watches ๐
I've been looking at those for weeks now. ย I'm fascinated by the 300hz movement. ย I hope to get one very soon. ย I'm just a little scared of getting burned by a seller. ย Yours is a beauty. I'm encouraged by your purchase. ย Enjoy .

It is in mint condition for sure, I know what you mean about getting burnt by a seller but ebay have good buyer protection so if you get a piece of junk you'll be covered. You should be able to get a really nice piece for between 400 and 500. The main issue with the watches is the date wheel the teeth can break so be gentle when adjusting the date on them.ย

I'll shop ebay with more confidence and thanks for the guidance about the date wheel. ย Again, I admire your piece.ย
Super clean classic look that is unique. ย I lov ย it. ย Lots of trend towards retro issues with brands. You are the real deal wearing true classics.ย
Cheers my friend, I do prefer vintage now as modern watches are mainly to big. It is a very very clean example just trying to find the right bracelet for it at the moment ๐

I did it. ย I've only had it for a few hours but I'm already taken with the sweeping seconds hand and the hum. Thanks for your advice. ย I'll be wearing it for at least a week to see how the day/date wheel functions.ย

Well done. The patina gives it character as a fine classic.
