Santos Dumont or Santos de Cartier?

This week I take a look at the Dumont, the prettier sibling. But would you take this over the regular Santos de Cartier?

Great video!!

I have a santos de Cartier, large with blue dial… I’m in love! This would easily be my choice.

·

Great video! Santos de Cartier will be my next nice watch.

On a side note, watchcrunch has been a lot of fun so far.

Thanks!  We are so happy that people are enjoying it so far, improvements are coming 😁

Santos Dumont is on my list. Someday

·

I picked up the santos de Cartier medium a couple of months ago. The Dumont is pretty, but the bracelet on the santos is by far the most beautiful bracelet I have ever seen/owned. I wear it on the included leather strap occasionally, but the bracelet really steals the show

That mechanism for the links is brilliant!

i am really considering to buy this one! thanks for showing us that masterpiece 😊

I am on the Santos de Cartier side.

First, it is more versatile. You have an integrated bracelet watch for every day and then you can dress it up with the leather strap as well. The difference in the look  between the Dumot and the leather strap Santos de C is so little that I would not eliminate the bracelet option.

Second, I simply like the white dial more than the silver dial :)

Third, Quartz…. It has advantages but nah.

However it’s true that the Dumont is much closer to the original for what I have to pay credit.

And to the pilots watch thing: can you imagine nowadays a co-pilot making calculations with his Navitimer in an emergency??? XD

I really liked your video, keep em coming!

For me the choice is the Santos de Cartier, I just think it is more versatile.  Lately, I have been wearing it on the leather strap more than the bracelet.  But, the bracelet is one of the best I have experienced! #cartier #santos

Awesome watch! However, I find the large and even medium sized Santos' (or Tanks for that matter) defeating the purpose of having a Cartier. To me the brand is all about understated elegance and this is simply too big for my taste.

·

Excellent video. Hard to choose. Both are winners!

·

i love both and currently wear a Santos des Cartier Medium. I did contemplate getting a Santos Dumont Large but when I think about how I could just switch my Santos des Cartier bracelet to leather strap, why get another similar style in Quartz, unless money is no object? Perhaps I should save the money and wait for Cartier to release new 2022 watches instead - that's my thinking atm, but after watching your video on Dumont I am seriously having a fomo moment...

I’m team Galbee :) It’s dimension is more true to the classic santos and wear extremely nicely on my 6.75inch asian wrist (despite the 29mm size)

 Cheers!

Wow That is classy 😍 The Galbee was the predecessor to the current Santos line? or is it still around?

Compliments to another exceptional video!

Acquired a Santos Dumont Small as a gift. What I wonder is, what strap options exist. AD seemed confident of availability, however, I get a sense that they might be confusing availability for other models. Cartier website lacks any offerings for the small model.

Any insight or experience would be well received...

I love the Santos Dumont, and I love small watches. I am also ok with the steel case since I believe it fits well this kind of Cartier watch. But the quartz movement really puts me off. Not sure I’d spend 4K on a quartz watch.

·

If it were one or the other, no, I wouldn’t. However, I agree that the current Dumont is itself a highly desirable watch. The dial and blued hands are simply exquisite.

another great video, Max!  Anything I can to do help get WatchCrunch more and more out there in the metaverse just let me know...Not sure what I can do, but if you are needing some help, I believe in this product 100% -Jay
