IWC spitfire IW326803

Hi, What is everyone's thought's on the IWC spitfire good or bad im open to all comments.

For myself I think its definitely one of the best pilots very easy to read the time as you can see i took this photo in full sun earlier today, It's running at +2.8 seconds a day the over all quality is amazing the leather used for the strap is also really good its patinaed nicely to a darker colour, very happy I bought this over 2 years ago it gets the most wrist time in my collection.

It's simple perfection! A great watch.

It’s a great watch I just wish it were 38mm with shorter lugs.
Enjoy it!

·

Love the watch but lugs and overall size an issue for my slender wrist :(

·

beautiful piece. simple and elegant. :)

Great watch, from a great company. That's not to say there aren't a lot of pilot style watches out there which tick all the same boxes (because, let's be honest, it's hard to stuff up a good, clean pilot style dial), but if we're ignoring those for the moment and just looking at this one... it's great. It's fab.

beautiful piece, i love it.

I love the Spitfire. Enjoy!

Love it 🔥

An absolute classic.

It’s a geeky thing for those who really love looking at fliegers but people often don’t appreciate just how good / different the design of the handset is on IWCs vs the rest of the market (Stowa / Laco / Damasko / Sinn etc). It’s pure preference obviously but the sizing, shaping and contours of the handset on IWC pilots is sheer perfection to my eye.

Also, the date placement on the Spitfire was better than the Mk 18 I think it was where the window was a bit janky. #detailsmatter

Overall, I love IWC as a brand despite the hate they often get for being overpriced, and love wearing my pilot chrono 41.

Thanks for the comment couldn't agree more.  I'd really like to buy the chronograph 41 one day there amazing.

It's a great watch - brilliant looks, build quality and finishing. woudl have preferred greener lume rahter than the vintage tint though.  Nice ValFleurier movement with silicon spring and a decent power reserve, made for IWC via  Richemont and a fair price - for £4600, this is an excellent watch for the money..

·

It is a well made pilot's watch. You can get one at many price points, many much less expensive than an IWC, and it will still be a well made pilot's watch. To each one's own.

·

Actually love the look of this one! If I ever become a real IWC fan (I like the brand and some models, including the Spitfire, but so far not enough to sell some pieces to pick one up) I think this will be my first IWC purchase.

·

Very nice. Starts looking of a homage of a homage of a homage of IWC, that should be in my price range

·

I don't know many of the the selection of watches from IWC, but this is the one that draws my attention most. I have only tried it on and it was an instant hit for me. I very much like it's classic pilot/field look AND has a date, which I find very useful. For me the dimensions are perfect.

I personally am not into the "fauxtina" on this particular watch (works on some), but that being said I would be willing to wear it. Would I be willing to part with my hard earned cash for one? No, but it totally comes down to that detail. It's otherwise a great watch with a solid movement with a nice power reserve in a great size. The only other thing I could want would be a bracelet option like on the Mark XX, but I suppose they need to differentiate those models from each other. If somebody likes the look, I wouldn't steer them away from it at all.

·

To me, Pilot watches are synonymous to IWC. Keep wearing it in the best of health.

·

I like my STOWA Baumuster B.  Since STOWA was one of the companies that made Fliegers for the Luftwaffe during WWII, as did IWC Laco, and others.

It's a beautiful watch. I wish the date were white lettering on a black background like the Mark 18.  Despite that quip, it's a stunner.
