Watches I Tend To Avoid! You?

Yes we all have watches that even though maybe popular to others and most of the world, you still try to avoid! As a bit of fun, I thought I’d shed some light into why certain watches don’t get featured on the channel!!

I know what I'm watching on my lunch break... Cheers!

Fun video! I have to agree about the California dial. The watch I bought that my wife hated was a vintage watch. She questioned my sanity for this one; my 1977 Citizen CQ Solar Cell. She gave it the nickname I still use for it, Brown Lump. She said it looked like a brown lump of s#!+ on my wrist.🤣

I really enjoyed this. Under all of the zaniness is a modestly wristed opinionated watch consumer.

·

I like that you don't bother with watches that you know won't appeal, it's a good way to keep things honest rather than having to bend over to praise something you don't enjoy.

PS. Your wife is right.

I agree with almost everything, but when it comes to the Roman numerals, I love the Cartier Santos and I can't imagine it without them

·

I avoid:

  • watch copies

  • Fashion watches

  • Watches for which I have no use case

  • Watches that are too big (really watches that don’t wear well on my wrist)

  • Dials that are busy

  • Open heart

  • Bad crowns/winding experience

Good video, didn't agree with everything - it'd be weird if we all did

·

Agree with the others and they said it better. I would say I'm vibing with your style and honesty. Also good points/opinions.

Dont own, or want a Tissot. My Gerald Genta/VC inspired Arken Instrumentum interested me mainly because it came with strap adapters to be able to change the look if I wanted to.

Far as dials go, out of curiosity what is your take on actual Arabic character dials?

Hinest opinions are encouraged btws, just wondering and my skin is about as thick as they come so it's really not possible to get under it lol.

For me I dig them because they are different, like the Cali/Roman style, but still true numbers in a way. Also spent some time in the Middle East and have met good people so it was/is a way to think about them while I'm wearing them watch.

Great vid Russell! Cheers 🍻

Agree strongly with the ‘avoid list’, but like some others don’t hate the Roman look on a Cartier, even though I’m generally not a fan on any other watches

From your list: the Ali express copies are my strongest dislike I wish would go away

Watched this morning and loved it. Couldn't agree more! I hope the baby is doing well. It's awesome you have 2 BB58s that you love. I often think of buying the same watch with a different color dial and always chicken out. Now I have a backup plan to tell my wife "This guy made me do it!"

I disagree with nearly everything you said about Skmei, but your video was funny and entertaining. The Skmei Royale is only £7.99 not £20 (except on Amazon) though. Oh, and I got my Skmei Square today: https://www.watchcrunch.com/casiodean/reviews/skmei-1628-review-197575

Skmei is the new Casio! 😜

Without Casio , there would be no SKMEI!! Think of that!!!;) you buy what you want my friend, the module feels very cheap and they copy iconic Casios that are already at an attainable price for most people looking for a good beater! Now in some parts of the world this isn’t the case since nice been told . Casio’s are like gold dust in some parts. But not in these parts .

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but your watch is a homage. Brown Lump of s#!+ is a legitimate AliExpress brand.

It would be the very definition of insanity.
