Just about to go to Greece (& the UK) myself! I’m planning on bringing three Casios: an AE-1200 for GADA+world time, a gold A159WGEA for a dress watch, and my yellow G-Shock DW-5600 for the beach and pool.

All three are inexpensive, so it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I lost one or one was stolen. That’s my primary consideration for a travel watch. My mechanical and/or luxury watches will stay home.

Hmmm...Greece. Trip to Greece. I know.  An Ironman with a 30 lap memory so I may mark the time and frequency of my Ouzo shots, a Squale 1521 like yours to match the bright blue roofs of Santorini, and a Seiko Tuna with an expansion strap to adjust when I've had way too much Surf and Turf with tzatziki sauce!

I just took a two-week vacation to DC and Pennsylvania. I decided to travel light this time, and just bring one watch. My BLNR -- pretty much the perfect travel watch. Right?

Not quite.

One lesson I learned was that you can feel a bit of a poseur, wearing something showy like this to some pretty lowbrow places. I never felt unsafe or worried about losing it... Just that I would have preferred something a little more low-key and modest in certain circumstances.

The other lesson I learned was that I really missed a couple of my other watches! Before I even unpacked my bag, I swapped out the Rollie for the Raily, which I was really pining for.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder? Perhaps.

Two weeks with the BLNR is hardly a hardship (for me at least -- the clasp picked up a nice new scratch while swimming in a lake). But there's no place like home, and it's sure nice to be reunited with the watch box.

Next time I'm taking two... Probably still the BLNR if I'm changing time zones, but definitely also something a little more reserved.

Fantastic vid and great choices. I've never been to Greece, but if I were going on holiday I think I'd take:

1] Hamilton Khaki King Auto

2] Seiko Recraft (the blue one)

3] Casio Royale

(And also maybe Tissot Visodate...)

Not 3 just two here. Seiko SLA 043 on tropic rubber for the day and Hammy Khaki 42mm steel Bracelet for the evening. 3rd would have been CWC mellor mechanical
