LOVE MILITARY INSPIRED WATCHES!

This is the Vertex M100. A reissue of the Dirty dozen Vertex used by the British ministry of Defence in the early 40’s.
it is without doubt the best re imagination of a Former historical watch I have ever held or reviewed.
the complete opposite of a cash grab , using the finest of materials, being built and assembled and regulated in Switzerland. The movement is a hand wind custom ETA 7001 which keeps the watch very slim! The numerals and markers are made from solid blocks of super luminova which is superb.
Don, the great grandson to the original owner has brought back the Vertex brand and I’m so happy he did!;) ive done a full review of the bronze one of this and recently reviewed the latest M60 diver!

Damn!  That's pretty much perfect IMO.  LOVE the arabics made of lume.  Does it have removable springbars? (I don't like NATOs)

Reading the blurb, it comes with a black leather strap as well as the NATO.

I don't dislike it but I wouldn't pay £2,500 for it. There are many other watches in that price bracket I'd buy before it.

You could even pick up an original dirty dozen for that - I know prices are crazy but given the choice I know what I would pick.

I do like Vertex, I have a 30mm 1940s unsigned model that’s need a fix so perhaps I’ll stick with that.

Yeah, wow, ok.  I love it  but I thought it might be US$1,000-1,500.  I don't see the same quality of components that you get in a Fears, it even comes in a plastic box - the website should be more transparent about the dial, hands, leather strap, case...

My personal favorite of the “dirty 12” inspired watches. Bremont Broadsword. Great dial, elegant but rugged case and a strap monster!  Mine keeps great time as well at +1 sec per day on average.

A very brief search online uncovered an original Dirty Dozen JLC c.1944 in excellent condition for £2,650.... I know which I'd rather have...

I'll buy it a little umbrella.

Hahahahaha can you get me one!

In fairness I'm Welsh so rain would be an issue. It rains so often here that I'm actually classed as an amphibian. I'd just have to only wear it on the 3 days per year when it doesn't rain - I suppose vintage authenticity comes with compromise.

It would be fine in the rain as I would hope you are wearing a jacket, but you wouldn’t take an antique watch swimming. I’m quite surprised at your initial response to a JLC Dirty Dozen is to suggest waterboarding it… again, there are times where I wonder if I’m on the wrong forum.

·

Definitely a thing of beauty plus who doesnt love a sub seconds. Classic look that kills.

Appreciate that a lot my friend thank you!

I wish you all the best to!

Love it in every possible way except the price (GBP➡️AUD you may as well just double the figure 🤪).

If you ask me (and to be fair, you didn't), a military watch should be priced as if the government was paying for it...

Oh...wait....

1940 RAF navigator's watch.  Predates the dirty dozen, in this case 6 manufactures were used.  33mm of military goodness
