Timex M79 Snoopy thought?

Just out of curiosity what’s everyone’s thought? I feel like I usually see new releases on WC regardless of pricing or cost to value proposition. But surprisingly I haven’t seen one person post on this watch. Are people off the snowy Q Timex novelty watches?

I like it.

I forget who the OP was but I recently saw someone post their entire collection of Timex Snoopy watches. Since that post, I've been eyeing the exact one you posted. I need a Snoopy or a Mickey in the collection, I've decided.

Love this watch !

I got an email yesterday and they canceled my order multiple times for some reason

What is it with the cartoon dogs and rodents on watches? Answer without using the adjective 'fun'.

That’s like asking someone the meaning of their tattoos… there dosen’t need to be a reason for anything. Once you understand that you will finally be able to live with happiness in your heart 🫶

Watches and tattoos - false equivalency.

Nothing like the greatest beagle that’s ever lived to class up a watch!!!!!!!! Love it!

Smiles, smiles, and more smiles, it’s a great reminder not to take the hobby too seriously

So do we Stephen 🤓

I own the far more basic Waterbury ocean version and it makes me very happy, so yeah the one you picked is great too

All I can see when looking at this watch is what I regard as poor finishing in the area over the concealed lugs. Although I'm sure it's designed as part of the watches style. Nor do I like the chamfers where different planes meet.

·

How is that bracelet? Like cheap Seiko 5 or better?

Also, thinking that blue or red resin strap would look great, but need to do some digging to find one that's fits in that integrated lug.

Yes, it just came out, I'm really surprised it's not sold out yet. Maybe it's the price.

I only collect Timex watches. Part of the charm is that they are not perfect and at the price range, I don't think you can expect that. As far as Timex stainless steel bracelets go, this one is my favorite so far, but you have to set your expectations realistically. Have you checked out Strap Habit? They make great bands for the Q Timex, the M79 which this one is and I believe I saw a really cool red strap and you are right it looks great.

As a Timex only collector, that is part of their charm. As far as specs and finishing go, you have to set your expectations accordingly. Some may thing the price is too high, but when you realize the history of Timex and if it resonates with you, maybe because of a childhood memory or people from your past who are no longer with you, you start to get it. It's definitely not about quality, clout or specs like many of the other things many watch collectors look for. P.S. don't ask me to make sense out of any of this, passion by definition doesn't make sense, but it makes me happy and I love it.

Watches and tattoos - false equivalency.

Yes people mark their body for no reason. In fact many do because they like the design or it makes them feel empowered with no other reason than that. There is no false equivalency when the comparison comes from the why/ or meaning behind something when there is none other than enjoyment. So I would probably keep your opinions about fun and tattoos to yourself because based on your answer you have neither.
