Helppp,, tribute or duoface?!

Both are awesome.

I really like blue-dialed watches, but for some reason...the one on the right. Just plain classic.

In person, the polish on the tribute was almost too shining for my liking too haha but nonetheless i agree both are awesome time pieces!

Duoface Reverso. That's my grail watch...

·

The one you like best. For me? I bought the classic small seconds duo.

I agree that both are awesome. The blue dial Tribute Duoface small seconds (3988482) is on my wish list, but I've never seen one in person. Assuming that is the reference of the blue one, I may need to rethink my choice, based on legibility. That dial appears to be quite difficult to read. The one on the right is really easy to read, and the dial is reminiscent of my Reverso Squadra Hometime.

Duoface all the way!

which sits better on your wrist?

They have two different sizes, if the larger one sits well on your wrist, go for the tribute. :)

I personally don't like the squared small seconds, I would go for a mono face medium.

Thats one BEEFY reverso! my wrist is too small to handle this haha but look so cool 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Depends on what you want to do with it. I went for the duoface for versatility : with 2 straps you basically have 4 watches and the casa fagliano brown strap does a great job dressing it down.

If you are looking for a dress watch then go tribute : duo face is on the thicker side and the blue face of the tribute is classy and gorgeous.

Haha i have smaller wrist so i will probably be getting the small seconds duo🤩

I thought about the non small hand mono face too but im still not used to seeing a watch without a moving seconds hand  😂 (also give me a sense of security that the watch is working hahha)

·

definitly the tribute. maybe I hesitate if it was the duoface red dial.

·

I've owned both and I'd say the Duoface mostly because of the versatility and the added gmt function. Also, be careful with Reverso sizing. Everyone thinks of them as a small and elegant watch but they're unexpectedly large. I sold my tribute (large sized) for a medium sized duoface because it was too big. Now I sold my duoface for a small sized regular reverso (older small size which is slightly bigger than the current production version)

o mai! What a journey hahha but thanks for the heads up! I’ll try them both out again before i pull the trigger 🔫 💸

I'm eyeing the Classic Monoface because price, thinness, simplicity, legibility, and original/classic design. The Tributes are nice but too little legibility/contrast compared to the 1931 original they imitate to suit me. Renderings actually make the polished indices look more visible than true photos. Then again I don't need a GMT and don't care for the black second face, which tilt some fans to the thicker model. I also prefer having the railroad track under the minute and hour hands rather than at the perimeter and just pointed at from afar. Too much guesswork.

The higher-contrast painted dials of the 1931 originals:

Today's model retaining contrast and moving the railroad where I can read it without as much estimation on the minute.

I personally don't like the squared small seconds, I would go for a mono face medium.

I would also prefer round small seconds except for this unique continuity of design. It's a rectangular case and dial with smaller rectangles, all the Golden Ratio, alternating between beautiful brushed and guilloche finishes. Feels like looking down the false "corridor" of the infinite mirror effect, and you find your eyes drawn to see how far this perfect pattern goes. No other watch dial has ever made me feel that way. So original, refined, and artistic that you'd expect it to be made by someone called The Watchmaker's Watchmaker -- yet also subtle and understated. Pure class and elegance.

The Tribute model lacks that unique appeal, though mighty elegant in its own way.

Dman, this is a good problem to have! The Duoface gets my vote! Let us know your decision.

·

Just to add another data point, I vote Duoface, although I wouldn't be sad with the tribute, either

·

Tribute.

Be blatantly honest i dont know enough to comment, however aesthetically i would pick the white dial over the blue without considering whether which one is reverso, or tribute or what not.

Reason 1. I m not a big fan of sunburst dial.

2. I like the step on the white dial with the different waffle like pattern in the middle, the square small second also presents coherence with the case shape which is pleasing.

3. I know these were meant to be sports watches (donkey years ago), gotta admit they are clinging towards dressier side of things nowadays. The numeric indices make more sense adding a touch more elegance.

4. Its way more legible

Very valid points sir! Especially point 4 🙌🏽 The main purpose why we need a watch is to tell the time right? Hahaha
