Be careful, even with the extremely weak JPY, if you are using a credit card the actual exchange rate isn't as crazy as you think.

Reach out to Philip from Atelier Kai or Aaron from Aaron Bespoke. They both are fantastic strap makers and have unique leathers to choose from.
Perhaps a burgundy museum leather strap or an English green ostrich leg strap. If you want something a bit daring, perhaps an orange fish leather strap.
Agreed. I have two strap suppliers that I have nothing but good things to say about, Aaron Bespoke in Canada and Atelier Kai in Singapore. They both have their individual strengths, Atelier Kai has a lot more unique alligator, lizard, and fish leathers while Aaron bespoke has far more calf leather, beaver, shark, and stingray leathers to choose from.
