Citizen has more - points and the timex more + points according to yourself. So if the size is fine for you I’d go with the timex!

·

Choose the one which will fit better on your wrist. If the 41mm Timex is going to be big for your wrist, there is no use of all the pros the watch offers.

·

Timex Purley for the size

·

Like my fellow crunchers above, I think your wrist size is the key to make a decision. If you can handle the 41 mm of the Timex, go for it ! If not, Citizen it is

·

Citizen for me, the citizens I have have a really good build quality and really keep good time

·

If it were my money? And my 6.75 inch wrist? The Citizen. Not a fan of field watches over 40mm, or leather straps on watches that will get wet (30 years in uniform - it invariably rains when you're "in the field.") Besides, straps are inexpensive.

Your list doesn't mention lume. I can't speak for either watch's lume. But I do have the solar powered Citizen BN0150 Promaster Diver - and the lume on that thing will last all night long. So if lume is a consideration - as it should be for a field watch - smart money is on the Chandler.

Let us know what you get...and pics when you do!

Eco-drive! And that the Citizen is smaller.

I have the Timex, and it is a nice watch. I never wear it because it had the misfortune of being ordered two days before the Marathon Steel Navigator was released.... So I wear the Marathon a lot.

The strap is comfortable out of the box and it feels well built, if simple in it's finishing. The lume is not good, but that's my only real gripe with it.

I bought that Citizen and tried to wear it for a month. It was very uncomfortable even on another strap. The lugs dug into my wrist. I sold it.

Timex, better specs, price & looks nicer. (That day/date is awful!)

Gave mine away

Or you could get the 36mm Timex for USD149 100m. Saphire AR. Solar/quartz
