You do not have to tape up the watch. The polishing cloth is meant to un-tarnish the steel as well so, your all good there. It works wonders. And, congrats! It's a lovely timepiece.
I'm far from having a legit setup, but I'm having fun. My next home will have enough space for a proper workstation.
