I bought a vintage Wittnauer. This old thing gave me new expectations.

I wrapped two joining honey brown leather bands around my wrist. On one end is a gold buckle, on the other is a decorative square with leaf-like numbers on it. Something happened. Things are different now.

I always knew that I had an old soul. Since the beginning of my infatuation with watches, I've always been drawn to the older style watches. I mean, just look at my last few watch purchases...

Before the Wittnauer, this Seiko Lordmatic was my oldest watch, being manufactured in the 70's. In this Wittnauer, I now have a watch that's now over 60 years old. And I'm happy as a millennial in Starbucks lol.

I won't go through the history of Wittnauer, but one thing I like about the brand is that it was founded the US. They built watches in America using imported Swiss movements.

In 1950, Longines bought Wittnauer and produced watches using similar design language. And I absolutely love Longines.

I found this piece on Ebay. It was advertised as being serviced a few years ago so I was inclined to believe it was in good running condition. The movement was gorgeous and looked clean and well kept. So I pulled the trigger.

The watch arrive with some sort of spots under the crystal...

Luckily for me I have the tools and experience to remove the movement/crystal, so I did and got the crystal looking fantastic...

The leather looks like it was of a similar age, but is in great vintage condition. The Longines Wittnauer stamp looks so cool.

I know many of you are much further down the rabbit hole than I, but I can't help but share my elation with you similar minded individuals. So thanks for listening. ✌️
