Max did it! ANACHRONIST "Zero Pass" NATO is legit.

Max from "Watch Crunch" has hit it out of the park with this "Zero Pass" Nato strap. I heard @Max was releasing a original designed Nato and was instantly intrigued. After watching him explain what is was I threw my money at him. Let me tell you why...

Me and Nato straps have an "on and off" relationship. I prefer a good bracelet TBH, but diversity of materials and color combos that Nato straps bring to the table cannot be denied. I own no less than a dozen and you can definitely find many #WRUW pics with them on my wrist, so yeah, I'm a fan. One thing I dislike about Nato's is the bulky presence it has when on my smaller than average wrist.

Image

I know the extra material tucked on the 12 o'clock is part of the charm of Nato's, but I realize now it's the material under the case that makes it look bulky. This is where the ANACHRONIST Zero Pass separates itself from the rest.

Image

The Zero Pass works to provide all the looks without sacrificing function. The premium quality nylon loops though both lugs fitting around the wrist without passing under the watch case.

Image

Max explains in his YouTube announcement video how watchmakers spend countless hours and some times years perfecting the fit and finish of a watch, and to experience a watch as intended the case needs to be flush with the wrist. A point I absolutely agree with.

The Zero Pass's advantage over similar functioning single pass type straps is in it's inclusion of extended length so the loops and buckle can operate exactly as it should on a normal Nato.

Image

The quality of the material both the nylon and metal is very nice. Comfortable and finished incredibly well. The ANACHRONIST engraving on the buckle is sweet frosting on an already tasty cake.

I have no association with ANACHRONIST or @Max but I absolutely love two things this guy has helped create; this Watch Crunch app, and this beautiful Nato. I can't imagine how this wasn't thought of sooner. Kudos to you @Max.

This is why Max never needed an advertising for his Zero Pass. He gets watch nerds to do it for him! How genius. 🍻

Im still struggling with the concept. 🤔

Check out the video. He explains it much better than I can.

Yeah, I just don't get it either. All the disadvantages of a normal strap with none of the functionality of the NATO 🤯

·

What's the advantage over a long single pass but with your wrist going between the strap and the watch?

I was literally thinking the same thing 😂

I get mine today. Let’s see what it’s all about.

No disrespect at all to Max but I don't get this. I mean, I understand how it functions, but I fail to see the point.

It totally negates the function of a nato; redundancy in case of a spring bar failure. When you take away the strap pass under the watch, it has no advantage over a two-piece strap. In fact, you now have a strap that is way bulkier than a 2-piece, a single pass, or a nato because you have two layers of material all the way around your wrist.

Besides, you can already wear a nato such that it only passes under the watch once, transferring the strap bulk to the underside of your wrist.

It's also not doing anything new. You can wear any sufficiently long one piece strap this way. You can do it with a nato, a single pass, a marine nationale, a paratrooper, a NASA, etc.

It just doesn't seem like an improvement on anything to me. You lose the security of a pass under the watch while adding a lot of bulk around the wrist.

That said, I am clearly not the intended audience for this strap. It's meant for people who are unhappy with natos, and I'm sure lots of those folks will love it!

i think what max is trying to made is just for aesthetic purpose only. nato looks without adding bulks because of the pass, also you can see the beautiful caseback of your watch.

I'm so glad you see the light! Looks beautiful and I think once people try this, they'll find it hard to go back to normal Natos. For the spring bar alarmists, you realize you have a tiny spring bar holding together the buckle of all your Nato Straps right? 😅

Plus, if you are afraid of spring bar failure, do you wear a normal straps and bracelet?

You can try it with your single pass and let us know how it goes. There's more features to keep things in place on the zero pass. Not here to convince anyone, just educate. You either get this design or you don't. I think plenty of people share my frustration with Natos.

I get what your saying, totally. But it's a different take on a nato. One that I find functional for what I'm looking for. Is it an improvement? That's up to your desired result. I like the extra material around the wrist. Wearing it securely doesn't make my wrist feel like tied ham. In terms of the spring bar failure, it's explained in his( @Max ) video that, that feature is not the aim here. I use new, quality springbars and I feel no glaring risk here. As you said, you may not be the demo for this product, that's fine. In the end for me, I paid for a well-made product for a reasonable price, and from a brand I appreciate. No shade, no smoke, just my 2 cents... Love the feedback.

Just watched the clip and I think I understand more now 👍 It's about maintaining the look of a NATO but without the bulk under the watch?

·

One more thing...

In addition to liking the product, I feel it's important to support things/people we like. I appreciate this WC app alot for giving me a space away from traditional social media. I don't do Facebook, I haven't been on IG in over a year, but I do engage with WC on a daily basis. This WC app, and folks on it have helped me exponentially become more knowledgeable about this "passion"(watches). I don't know @Max's association with WC, but I know that he is, and I think it's important to support people doing good things.

Sure there's a springbar on the buckle. But we don't mess with the buckle springbar very often if ever, so the tolerances stay tight. Never had one fail though, while I've had a spring bar pop a few times. Anecdotal, but there it is.

I do wear normal straps, not much for bracelets. If I'm doing in water activities, not just things where it might get wet, I like the peace of mind of a nato. My brother's SKX is somewhere on the ocean floor due to strap failure.

Again I'm obviously not the person this was meant for because I'm content with natos, but I'm sure you've solved a problem for some people who aren't! It's always good to see something new, even it's not my cup of tea.

Definitely not intended for everyone, but if you ever wanted to try, I'm sure we can make that happen 😉

It's great for thick watches you want to wear on a NATO. The main benefit is that you still have the look while not adding additional thickness between the watch and your wrist.
