My latest “3 watches for £5k” collection

Have the Pelagos FXD for every day. The Cartier for fancy times. And the Omega for staring at.

Bought carefully used this lot came to £5k.

What would you or do you have at the same value as this?

It’s brilliant - wears like a charm even on my 6.25 inch wrist - I think it’s because of the low lying fixed “not a spring bar”.

In general fabric straps are more practical for every day use - especially desk diving. I wear this everywhere from work to jogging to bed.

I’ve got a few ways to go with this in my collection but I’ll go with these three:

My Raymond Weil Freelancer gmt Worldtimer as it’s one of my favourites, my Anonimo Nautilo Vintage as I’d want a diver without a green dial and this is my most recent one and my Studio Underdog Goofy Panda as I can use it as a dress piece and it’s got my favourite complication.

Again at retail just the Anonimo and RW will break the budget, but if you look around you can get all 3 for under £5000.

Got to disagree with you there. I’d love all three of those watches, even the Cartier a brand I don’t normally go for looks amazing.

How did you get those for 5k! That's amazingly good shopping! Congratulations on your haggling skills as well as your lovely collection. 👍

Well £3k for the Tudor was just a standard “good price” - though I did see the blue and the red bull as low as £2.3k. Then £1k each for the others were eBay bargains.

I honestly had no idea you could pick up a Seamaster diver 300m for £1000! I'm now looking myself. 👍

That's a helluva collection for £5k, nicely done mate 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Mid sized, quartz. I replaced the horrible bracelet with a £35 Milanese. You might not see one immediately available at that price but they pop up! Either as cheap “buy it now’s” or stalk an auction - especially one that ends at a stupid time when not many people are looking.

Great collection for the money

·

Superb selection. £5k for all 3, how on earth! 👏

·

Damn, you must have copped some great deals there. Well done and great watches

That is an amazing set of watches to have acquired for under £5k. Any secrets to how you go about getting good prices?

EBay newly listed items and obsessive tendencies.

If I had £5k to spend I'd buy a lot more than three watches - I like variety.

But if I had to, it'd be:

  1. Longines Retrograde Moonphase 41mm L2.738.4.71.3 around £2.2k used

  2. Eterna Les Historiques 37mm 678.2147.68R £1.8k used

  3. Longines Conquest 36mm Very High Precision (High Accuracy Quartz) L33164766 £600 used
