I honestly have no idea how to answer this.

Insomnia… a lot of my pieces end up with me because I can’t catch a shut eye :-) but other than that a combination of movement and looks of the watch

·

C and D equally.

·

Price/value -can I afford it.?

Quality /robustness/timekeeping

Brand/history/heritage

·

My likey me buy

Me no likey, me no buy

I went with option (D) in the poll. Moreover, I always consider the movement inside as if the movement is not reliable in terms of durability and precision then it is a dealbraker to me. Then I go to the craftsmanship and buid quality. I always look for craftsmanship in a watch and I enjoy a highly crafted one every second in my wrist. Then I go to the functionality. What do I want this watch for. Where will I wear it and what does it offer. Then comes the soul candy. The type, the aesthetic, the colors and how they are displayed. Of course depending on the type of the watch this varies. Last but not least, I go for the #lume . Lume is vital to me so it has to offer a great luminescent legibility, but that won’t be a deal braker to me.

Does it look cool?

Can I afford it?

Is it a good size?

That's basically it for me.

·

It has to look/feel good and it has to make me feel good when wearing it. That's pretty much it.

Aesthetics by far. I won't buy an ugly watch. Functionnality can be to an extend associated with the looks, as I don't like a Day-date complication.

Country of origin. It's a fun thing to talk with another watch guy when talking about the watch, but never the main reason of choice.

Vintage... I'm not rich enough or have enough knowledge in old watches to be interrested in buying a vintage watch. Yes, I do find some old watches design really nice. Maybe it's because I don't look enough the vintage market/I'm too poor, but I feel most "vintage" watches are simply beaten up watches.
