The Not-Collection Collection

How many watches do you own that aren't part of your "collection"?

Of the 16 I own there are 5 I don't consider part of my collection. They're mostly old beaters or ones I upgraded from.

This is my collection and I'm waiting for 3 watches to arrive.

I pray every night to Jesus to help me stay clean for at least 2 months

I have 3 or 4 that I no longer wear ( most are 10+ years old) and around a dozen that I rotate through daily.

I don't want to get hung up on the word collection... These are just ones that I still own, but are not in my rotation, mostly because my taste had changed in watches.

I do hang on to them as souvenirs of days gone by.  Im curious to see other responses to see if others have kept watches they no longer wear and are pretty confident they won't wear again.

I had 2 watches that were just sorta hanging out in a g shock tin. I just donated them to a thrift store mainly because they weren't up to snuff and didn't want to foist them upon someone else.

My collection made up of 4 groups (in 4 different watch boxes)

Group 1 contains the watches that see regular wrist time, and which I consider to be the core part of my collection.

Group 2 contains watches that see occasional wrist time, but which are not part of my regular rotation. I consider them to be an important part of my collection, but not as important as those in group 1.

Group 3 consists of watches that hardly ever get wrist time, but which I would still consider part of my collection.

Group 4 is for the really oddball pieces that I'll never wear, and includes watches that I keep for sentimental reasons. I don't really consider these part of my collection

Have 10 currently, but only 4 are on regular rotation... I can see two of the watches falling out of favour in the future though.

I had my first watch for a long time. It was a kids Timex Ironman on a velcro strap. I ended up tossing it because the module died and I kind of regret it now

I look forward to the day that I too can have 4 boxes worth of watches 😂

I have 12 in my watch box all of them are different. I wear them all time to time. I have 3 spare that I travel don't care if they get lost or stolen. Got 3 other ones that I will tray them in or give alway as gift I used them and out grew them. But going back to the Big 12 those I cherish the most I try to keep it as that.
