Which Radiomir to go with?

Hello,

I am seeking advice. I was at some point in the last year very keen on getting a Panerai. In Minnesota there are not many places you can try one on. After much looking online, I wrote them off as too big for a 6.5 inch wrist and moved on with my life.

Recently I got a chance to visit an AD that carries them and tried some on. Much to my delight, some models were much more wearable than I imagined! Personally, I just like the Radiomir the most. Even after coming down to 45mm, they still look and feel pretty uncompromising in their heft and the aesthetic Panerai is known for. Now I can’t get the Radiomir out of my mind, so I am saving up. I was drawn to the beige Tre Giorni model at the store more than the traditional black dial. But, after looking at too many photos I am now unsure what I want. So, I am posting this so you crunchers can make your case for what models you like the most! Also, does anyone have or have you worn any that dropped in 2023 with the “Brunito” finishing? I hope I spelled that correctly. I could look it up, but, well, I’m not going to. Do you think that watch is worth the money after seeing it? Or, would you save the money and go for something different? Help me make up my mind!

You’ve evaded my question haha 😂 but, tbh, if I get one I’ll probably get a Luminor at some point because it also is so iconic.

The best Radiomir is a Luminor, conclusion I dont like Radiomir 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

First, buy what you like. If you like this model, buy one and enjoy the heck out of it.

Honesty time: Is it worth the money? At MSRP, no. If it were me, I would wait for something different as this is not a watch for me and the only ones I like from the brand do not really live up to the heritage, like the Due, which is less than half of MSRP.

BUT, that is me, you buy what you like.

Beige for me. Colour of the face seems to make more of the case shape. IMHO 👍

I’m glad I’m not the only one that likes the beige 😊 I mean it’s probably the least tied to heritage, but I’m into it

I’m digging the tan one. I’ve never seen that one before.

·

Both gorgeous, I would go for a black one with that big crown and wire lugs, but with a sandwich dial 👌🏻

I am with you on the sandwich dial!

·

I think the tan one is boss. It steps aside from the crowd but retains the cool, rather brutalist qualities that make Panerai interesting. And it doesn’t have that excessive crown guard (apologies to purists!).

·

Has to be a sandwich dial for a Panerai so the beige one

·

Considered a Radiomir but opted for a Luminor instead some time back.

I'm a big fan of the base logo and how legible the dial is but that beige is super unique to say the least! Ya sorry I couldn't help you 🤣

I mean there is a good reason it’s their most sold model 👌

In pictures it was hard to tell if that one has a sandwich dial, so thanks for the info! That one just jumped up on the list ✌️

Hi! I have a Luminor Marina and a Submersible, still shopping for a Radiomir, honestly the brand might be not the best bang for bucks. Good luck have a great day!

That is probably true! But the way I see it, I can’t always stick to great value watches and miss out on great watches that might not retain their value as well 🤷🏻‍♂️ we’ll see what happens haha, still shopping for sure

You are talking to a genius who has purchased Breitling watches since the 80s, great watches imo but lose massively all value out the door. Just purchased a Datora that my wife insists is worth peanuts after she kills me, lol.

·

I like better the dark one. But that's just me! Good luck choosing one! And both are fantastic anyway.

That’s funny, on the same day I tried on these Panerais I was at a different AD where I tried on the Brietling duograph and the datora! 😅 both are fantastic and I would also buy those and be happy about it

The duograph might be smarter option but I love moonphases from since I started collecting. Guys who buy Pams usually like Breitlings also. They are large watches, Breitlings are more subdued since Kern became CEO but still make watches in 44, 46mm sizes for the older fans.

Definitely need the sandwich dial.

·

Black!

·

The wire lugs make all the difference, wears more like a square. Beige for me, but you don’t need us to tell you what you like.

If you had a surprise box with one of them inside, which would you be more excited to open?

Yeah I think wire lugs and sandwich dial are a must for me. Out of those two, the beige! But I am curious about a couple of the references I haven’t been able to try on. Plus, it’s not an urgent buy, but I wanted to see what people’s opinions were 😉

The chocolate is great looking. Panerai does have a new online chocolate Radiomir with seconds at 9pm. Got mine a month ago. Wears great. Manual wind. Very happy, and the price is great.

·

Tre Giorni is a beautiful dial

·

Omg I need to know how this ended!! Did you get it? Because if so I want to see as many pictures as possible on your wrist, because mine is about the same size

Haha I wish I had wrist shots for you! I literally couldn’t decide. I figured I’d wait to see if the opportunity to buy in Italy arises over the summer when I’m traveling there. I guess it ended with me getting a Nomos Club Campus instead 😂 but not really, I just picked that up cuz I love Nomos and wanted to sit on the idea of a Panerai a bit longer

Completely valid. What ever you decide hope you get the right choice, cause remorse is awful 😅
