Zodiac is a great brand with a great history It reached its peak in the 50s, 60s and 70s in the early 2000s. Fossil bought the brand and revived it. Currently it has revived its former glories as the Super Sea wolf 68 Saturation

It’s an iconic watch, back in the day, when the beginning recreational diving industry was taking off there was three players that threw their hats in the ring. One was the Rolex submariner, the Blancpain 50 phantoms & The Zodiac, Super Sea Wolf. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong. I believe that was in 1953? At the time zodiac was the preferred brand over the other two. A complete corporate mismanagement that they so revered compared to a zodiac it was place so far ahead the other two considering it’s pedigree.

Great watch - mine is +\- 1 second a day.

Blingy steel 🤩, but light and comfy. On the jubilee - the butterfly had magic 2mm of springy expansion, so always comfy.

Very light on rubber and easy to wear and swim with.

It’s a sea wolf - so help it fulfil its destiny!

BTW, some ‘meh’ to report: like all my Swiss divers, lume is bad compared to Seiko. And small crown and winding action not the best. Power reserve only about 40 hours.

Overall, the issues I have are minor, so my ‘I’d rather be swimming’ watch is cool and a keeper !

I haven’t owned one but I was impressed by the Pineapple Dream collaboration with A Blog to Watch. I got to try it on (and loads of others!) at WatchPro Salon last year.

They do a lot of cool things with ceramic and of course, colour.

The best praise I have for them is that unlike a lot of peers, they seem to have priced their product perfectly. The build quality and design feel like what they’re sold as, there’s no real argument to be had on what you get for the money new. Secondary market prices ideally shouldn’t be a priority in this bracket anyway unless you’re buying second hand.

For £1500-2000ish you get a fantastic, one of a kind iconic watch with legit diving history, if that’s your thing. What sets Zodiac apart though is that their watches (especially in bright colours) will pretty much always get a “cool watch” from both watch people and non watch people.

We've reviewed one or two on our channel and I've owned multiple. I really like their high end stuff.

Love my Watermelon. Only minor, minor quibble has been the movement. My first STP, and although within spec - so for me, you can't complain - not overly impressive figures. Have to say though, whenever I put it on, it's so damned pretty that I don't tend to even think about what's on the inside👍

Zodiac and I go a long way back to the quartz era and the Sea Dragon. Back then they were in Dillard's dept. stores here in the USA though they did get dropped eventually. Anyway I must have 6 or 7 from that era. All dead and need batteries, btw.

Fast forward to 2023 and I was lucky and found several modern Zodiacs at TJ Maxx here in the states at incredible discount. So I bought a Sea Wolf, was impressed and returned and bought a compression version. BTW, they have been sold out at TJ for a months now.

The Fossil Group acquired STP so Zodiacs now have those movements and they are pretty nice. And they are regulated! Are you listening Seiko?

The two negatives are the crown (it needs to be a little bigger) and price. IMHO, they are not worth the suggested MSRP but if you can get 30% off, they are more far attractive and appropriately priced. At 50%-60% off, (TJ pricing, btw) they are a BUY IT NOW type of watch.

I bought this one in the mid 70's and wore it everyday for 20 years. It took a beating and I had it restored in 2018 after years of being unworn, Dial and bezel replaced with OEM parts and movement serviced,Everything else the same, Now it's a regular part of the rotation.
