Both are really nice! The explorer is definitely a grail for me. But i would go with the one that fits best and the one you really want. I could be worth selling a few that you dont use and get the Rolex, or just save up for it and in the meantime you have some extra time to think about it
I think Bretling is really nice and it was one of the brands I've heard of before getting into collecting. Although I've only tried a vintage one, I feel like they are generally a bit too big for me and I then gravitate towards other brands like Oris, Omega, Rolex ect. But I wouldnt mind trying one and maybe getting one in the future!
Congrats on your graduation! When I moved away from home and started to live on my own for the first time, I bought myself an Oris Wings of Hope to celebrate the W! Now I wear it on weekends and when I go on dates, for good luck! For me, it stands for ellegance, simplicity and independency!
