My Beginner’s 3 Watch Collection

Hello guys I’m fairly new to the hobby of watch collecting. This is my beginner’s watch collection. Currently saving up for my first swiss watch- probably an oris big crown pointer date or a hamilton intramatic chrono. Well we all have to start somewhere right?❤️

·

Welcome to the crunch and nice collection. That seiko presage of yours really pops out 🔥🎯

·

Yes & it's quite a beautiful collection so far. More importantly you enjoy the watches & can afford it

·

Damn fine start mate 💪🏼💪🏼

·

Thank you all for the encouraging comments.❤️

Your covered already with those great watches. Go slow and steady, half the fun is researching and window shopping/trying on etc.

The first time I met my younger daughter’s new boyfriend, he proceeded to drop his brand new phone cracking the front, I noticed he was wearing a G-Shock. Suddenly, the young couple are expecting our first grandkid in October, moving into their first family home at the end of July, still wearing the same G-Shock! He owns other watches now including a few from me but continuity with your past is important. Remembering where you were might be just as important as where you plan to arrive at. Good luck with your own watch journey. 👍

Thanks for the advice to slow down. Recently I’m a bit pressured and overwhelmed by all the watches I’ve seen in youtube. I will heed your advice and enjoy the hunt😀

It was love at first sight with that one and pictures don’t do it justice. It’s really ansubtle brown from afar but when the light hits it, the bright red textured dial comes out. Also bought this watch to commemorate my new job after a long job hunt during the pandemic😃

Welcome fellow newbie. Great start you have going there! I love the look at that Presage!

·

SKX, CasiOak, and a Cocktail Time, that’s one hell of a 3 watch collection already. Nice job. Hard to find a better 3 watch under $1000.

Thank you for appreciating my simple watch collection. You got some awesome watches yourself. Love that Dan Henry!😃

I see we both appreciate affordable watches. I really love that seiko quartz you have. My wife also gave me a fossil flieger type c homage and still keep it today. Got to buy a new battery though..😃

Congratulations on your growing collection. Just a recommendation. For your automatic watches look for daily accuracy in seconds and hours of power reserve. Then the holly grail of automatics is the Swiss COSC certification or Certified Chronometer. That will guarantee a +/- 5 seconds per day accuracy. Some Tissots are the least expensive COSC watches you can find. Normally COSC watches will go way beyond $1,000. I was able to find a brand new Tissot Chemin de Tourelles. COSC certified. 80 hours reserve for around $400! Never again was able to find a watch with those characteristics at that price. But definitely COSC is your holly grail for Swiss watches. Of course in that level are Omegas, Tudors, Longines and of course Rolex.

Thank you for the recommendation. I didn’t know that about that tissot, good value indeed. Maybe someday i could save up for a longines spirit 40mm or even a GS 9f quartz. You see 2kUSD is already big money here in our lousy exhange rates. But yes I agree, definitely my long term goal to buy higher accuracy watches maybe after 5 years☺️
