I quite liked it when I first saw pictures of it. It is regularly discounted over here and it struck me as good value for a precisionist movement.
When I actually handled one in the shop it was on the large size for me for regular wear but probably spot on for wearing over a wet suit.
For a dive watch, the dial has good legibility but the bezel less so as the hex screw heads (which I think are fake) are a bit distracting. Also I am not a fan of dive watches that need regular battery changes since it risks the seals integrity and I would probably have it done by Bulova if I want to dive with it - so really solar quartz or 10 year battery only.
So it has its drawbacks but I still think it’s good value for the discounted price I regularly see - so I gave it a like vote.
I did pick up this one pre-owned but it’s as good as new and was a bargain.
It has most of the disadvantages I mentioned in my previous post and additionally you don’t even get the smooth Precisionist second hand sweep as it’s a chronograph.
But I like this colour way lots and the bezel legibility is much better and as it was a bargain I won’t mind forking out for a new battery (once at least). Also it’s good for diving as it’s rock solid and I am not going to be bereft if anything happens to it.
Definitely at the upper limit for me in terms of size and weight but your wrist is about 1cm bigger than mine. So I am able to use this to calibrate my parameters.
I prefer the old sea kings as they are more dressy the new bulova diver sea king I don't like so much as it's basically the same as every other dive watch .

That’s a cool one. Regarding the second hand sweep, that’s how the lunar pilot was, which was kind of off putting. I’ve always wondered why the movement couldn’t produce smooth sweeps for both?

Those vintage SK’s look great, I’ve only just recently discovered them.
I didn't know about this watch up until now so I had to research it a bit and imo it's impressive, especially the movement. I'm not a big fan of quartz but if I was gonna get one then I look no further I guess. The only draw back is the large size of that watch but considering the lovely look of the watch I wouldn't mind it to wear it occasionally

My thoughts too. With quartz, my preference is to either not have a seconds hand at all, or have something that produces a smooth sweep like this.
Bulova has some nice watches in their archive to inspire new releases. One of my favorite "economy" brands.
Definitely agree, I just wish they’d come down on their sizing. That or offer various size options. Maybe it’s because of the movement itself? But, many of their watches, if offered in the 38-40mm ranges, would be killer.

I'll answer directly rather than be a random vote in another poll ( is there a prize for a poll badge?)
It's a great watch but a bit large. I sold mine for that reason.

Everything’s made up and the points don’t matter.
It does seem like a monster of a watch, but I am interested in the 262khz movement 🤔

Lol so is this song a tribute to this monster, or the other way around?

I guess we’ll have to do a deep history exploration!

Why didn't you just say so?
The Sea King is one of many with the Precisionist movement.
It's accurate but not to within +/- 10 secs / years as originally advertised. I have had a couple and more like 20-30 spy which is very good.

Yeah that’s still solid. I just haven’t seen anything else that looks like it with that movement.
There’s only one sea king
There’s only one sea king
(I do like the vintage Bulova SKs)
It's beautiful, get it.

It’s a big chunky watch.

I don't know it, but it doesn't appeal visually to me. Also, 4:30 date. Shame!
Don't have it, but I like the design, the brand and the movement. I have recently got myself a Jet star and that seconds hand is mesmerising.

I probably will, kind of a guilty pleasure 🤷🏻

Could probably use it in self defense if needed 🤔

Haven’t seen it…but wouldn’t doubt it
I had to though!
