"Decoding the Perfect Fit: What's Your Ideal Watch Size?"

Wrist sizes vary, and so do watch preferences! Your ideal watch size goes beyond aesthetics; it's about comfort and style.

Small Wrists (13-16 cm): Look for watches with a lug-to-lug length of 40-44 mm for a sleek and balanced appearance.

Image Medium Wrists (16-18 cm): Watches with a lug-to-lug length of 44-48 mm offer a comfortable fit and a fashionable statement.

Image Larger Wrists (18+ cm): Opt for watches with a lug-to-lug length of 48-52 mm to create a bold and impressive look.

But here's the real question: What's your sweet spot for watch size, and why?

What watch brand offers the average user the "PERFECT" size?

According to your scale, my wrist is "larger". My watches range from 46-50mm in L to L.

I think it is more than just how large is your wrist, the thickness or flatness of your wrist also factors in. I have a 7.5" (19cm) wrist, and the lug-to-lug range in my collection is 44mm-49mm. I feel like anything over 49mm is too large and hangs over the edge of my wrist.

I think Citizen, Timex, Islander, Vaer, and Seiko do pretty well with offering good sizes.

Wow. It's been a few days since this topic came up.

I was beginning to worry that someone had "settled the argument once and for all" and hadn't told me.

The answer is still 34.

Large wrist 32 to 38mm

Medium wrist 32 to 38mm

Small wrist 32 to 38mm .

PoorMansRolex

The answer is still 34.

I believe Douglas Adams said the answer is 42

39mm fits best, but I like any watch up to 45mm. I’m probably not wired, just eccentric. 🤓

I have a 6-1/2" wrist (165mm) and prefer watches in the 40-ish mm bracket ... though my modest collection ranges 37mm (Seiko SNK803) to 44mm (Casio MDV-106 "Duro") and all look fine on my appendage 👍 😎

I think it’s hard to pinpoint a single brand without drilling down into watch style. If I had to guess 45-47 L2L and 37-39mm in diameter suits most wrists in gen pop. I think dressy sports and straight up dress watches more than other styles in this range.

According to your chart, I have been buying watches that suit my wrist after my failed experiment collecting vintage. I prefer watches larger than 38mm but draw the line at 48mm which I do own. However watches that are too thick appear inelegant, not wrong but a little too tool. I have always purchased brands on the plus size.

The answer is 40-42 diameter.

I use love large watches. My late best friend bought 2 Invicta divers long ago cause they were on special. I had sold mine but, kept his when he had passed. I don't wear it but, more of a keepsake now that he is gone. They were 46mm case. I found over the years I can't not even look at anything over 45mm. I have 7 inch wrist and most of my watches now are between 39-43mm I would like to try 36mm as I have seen some beautiful watches but, afraid it may look odd on my wrist. Suggestions? Thanks

Your breakdown is pretty much spot on. I think Longines been doing a great job the last year or so. Their 38.5mm size is becoming common and the L2L is good and I think would work well for average wrists. The worst is Nomos - those long lugs make case size Vs wear experience confounding.

I am with you for my wrist size 165mm, my sweet spot is under 46-47 but preferably around 43-44mm of lug to lug.
