Snagged this vintage Rado the other day

First Rado is a vintage … heard great things about the brand … really got my eye on a captain cook

Love that dial!

That’s a striking watch!  Not handed down (or known provenance) Vintage scares me to test that arena

The Cook is a great watch.  I love the green and red colorways, but ultimately went with the ceramic

Is that 42mm?

Is that 42mm?

It’s a 44 - it’s a few mm bigger in all dimensions than the steel versions I think.  It’s built like a tank.

Ceramic is a fair bit lighter than steel and feels smoother and little warmer on the skin vs steel.

I was interested in the regular cook but when I saw this one on a great sale price I went ceramic and am glad I did.

BTW - I’ve got a skeletor style 6 inch wrist - and this 44mm watch wears amazing on it.  So it’s very versatile on different wrist sizes

Gorgeously future-retro! I dare say Lando might want to swap his piece for your new Rado.

Oh man that's a beauty!

Vintage Rado is underrated imo. Rado in general is underrated. I have a Rado conway from 1970 with an ETA 2789 movement and this watch is truly perfect for me. I hope you will enjoy wearing yours, cause it looks stunning.

Love Rado and they are definitely underrated! I have never seen that vintage one you have...there is probably a treasure of their lesser known models out there. I have had the Captain Cook 1962 revival with the brown dial and i currently have the CC Over Pole.

Love that stacked day date ..

·

Did you get it online? If so where? What year is it? I love it

·

eBay … don’t have the year on me but I’ll check it out when I get home

Rado is a great brand with a lot of history. If you were in Asia or in other parts of Europe, the brand is well-respected and well-regarded as much as Longines… maybe even more.

Congratulations and wear it in the best of health and with much Rado passion.

·

Beautiful Rado, well done

·

So shiny :)
