It was probably done professionally, as in, they paid someone to do it. It could be their own watchmaker or a local guy.

When I bought my vintage Tissot it came with a note saying "fully serviced on xx/xx/xxxx". It had several spelling mistakes so inspired little confidence. I took it to a local watchmaker who confirmed it was fine.

commented on Rado: Luxury or Fashion watch brand? ·

Rado is (was) known for unique designs with different materials, especially ceramic. The Diastar comes to mind.

And some of them like the captain Cook have a neat spinning logo which never fails to amuse.

They're the quirky alternative in the Swatch entry luxury category.

There's some overlap but I would keep both:

Green vs blue

Integrated vs quick release bracelet

Date vs no date

Tool/GADA vibe vs dressier vibe

Both watches are on my wish list so I might be a little biased :)

A 7753 is a variation of the ETA/Valjoux 7750.

They are in use since the 80s, but are based on even older designs. A stock 7753 can be serviced by any watchmaker worth leaving your watch with.

However.. Tissot made several modifications to up the power reserve and make it handwound., I can't tell you how much that impacts serviceability.

It's a good looking watch for sure.

It's part of the bigger watch addiction for sure.

But it's the healthiest part for me. No scrolling through listings on ebay out of boredom but mostly seeing people being enthousiastic with an occasional amusing rant as palate cleanser.
