Hammy

Scratched the bezel on this at the 12 position, whilst working on a classic bike, gutted.

Scratches gives character, like wrinkles. Hahaha

·

Let that be a lesson.

See what happens when you actually wear a watch?

·

Field watches in fact all tool watches IMO look so much better with aging and scratches. Just need a distressed leather strap for the full vintage look! 👍

·

First is the worst. It's better the second time

·

Well, "Working on a classic bike" sounds better than "hitting a doorframe"...

·

Dang! Well it says to the world I wear my watches!

Done the door frame mod too, on another watch.

·

Hardly noticeable.

These watches below are better suited for classic bike repairs. 😉😀.

If you scratch any of them… you don’t care. 😁

You may be right, I'll bear that in mind.

New beater unlocked

·

It’s not a scratch. It’s patina.

·

So, a beat up distressed looking strap now, to complete the mod.

·

Sod the watch, is the bike ok?!

What is the classic bike ?

Cheers mate 👍🏻🏍️

RIP

·

Don’t worry it’ll buff out

·

It’ll be ok. The Hammy is the favorite in my collection and the polished bezel picks up scratches like crazy. After a while it just becomes part of YOUR watch.

Spot on!

It’s all part of the fun!

As someone said in the comments, that first one sucks but the rest are easier.

My hammy is 2 years old and it’s starting to look tough. 💪

Now it is officially a field watch instead of a wanna be

·

Ir adds character 🤬

·

Its a tool watch, it is meant to take the scratches. Check my handywork

·

I'd bet the bike had a few scratches on it too, which gave it a story and character... some might say its the same for your watch now...

·

They only get better with age brother!

Don't worry about it. It is monor and a lesson learned. Remove your watch while doing manual work. That scratch has it's story and you will remember it.

·

I have a way worse scratch at both the 12 and 6 o'clock on the bezel of my dress watch and I was also initially gutted. Now I don't really notice it and when i do it puts a smile on my face

·

It's patina, you'll be fine. 🙏

·

And THAT is why I have a $40 G-Shock DW5600 for when I am doing work around the house. I have banged it to hell and I don't care how many dings it gets.
