Calling All Strap-Savvy Crunchers: Any Suggestions?

I’m looking to dress down this vintage Rotary a bit. The strap that’s currently fitted is a bit shiny and plastic-y for my taste and I’d like to try something a bit more interesting than the brown and black vintage stitched or gator fare I usually favor.

So I thought I’d consult the Watchcrunch brain trust for suggestions! 🧐

I’m an unabashed cheapskate, and this is an occasional wear piece, so under $50 would be great, under $30 would be better! Haha

Also, example pics if you have similarly styled watches would be helpful for me to visualize.

Thanks in advance! 🍻

I put a brown suede strap on mine. It was less than £5.

Yep, Barton quick release leather straps on Amazon will work

How dressed down are you going for? If you're going down, I'd recommend the vintage horween strap.

For leather straps to be dressed down, it'll depend on the kind of leather used and the stitching. @casiodean @SpecKTator and @TalkingDugong have recommended good options already. Here are 2 recoms from my white dial.

In addition, generally, dress down means bracelets. Here are shots of my silver linen dial Seiko DX that may give you some ideas.

What @hakki501 says about steel is spot on.

Maybe a Forstner Komfit? Have one on my Timex Q GMT, and it's never leaving lol 😂.

Go green.

Never would have thought to do green! I really like that combo 👌

Another dress down option I like Andrew is a sailcloth strap

Thanks for the suggestions all! Per @TalkingDugong & @weedge’s recommendations, I ended up going with a forest green strap. Never would’ve thought to go that color, but I really love how it compliments the champagne dial, and how the sort of British Racing green is a nod to Rotary being a British brand.

Looks great, I do like a green strap. It can work with the right watch, and yours is
