Books and Watches

After taking some inspiration from fellow Watch Cruncher's, I have started to merge my 2 passions.

Biggest challenge is which book to pair with which Watch.

Hamilton Kakhi field and Max Hastings Vietnam is a no brainer.

Seeing as most of my 300 + plus books are Sci Fi /Fantasy would be interested to see if any Cruncher's have the same interest's and show off your watch/book combo.

Nice idea. Listen to mostly audio books due to ops tempo and travel. But screenshots of them paired with watches incoming...be prepared, it's gonna be a lot....🫣

(Yes I know it's not a GoRuck, plate carrier and shoes are tho. Have to get used to what will be at a selection course I'm prepping for.)

You have some super interesting pieces there and love some of the book options! Jim Butcher series had always been on my list, not long finished Elantris by Sanderson as my first dipping of the toe (except from Wheel of Time).

Since George RR has not finished Song of Ice and Fire and been waiting 10 years, reluctant to start Patrick Rothfuss😂 LOTR a stable of the genre.

Love the Cussler and Doxa 🔥

I found out about the books sometime after I got the Watch. Decided to check ‘em out. Glad I did. They’re fun reads. I still have plenty to go.

Watches ‘n books. Here’s a few with loose connections to the books:

I don't read fiction, so here's one of my Omega books with my Omega's

Just bought a copy of "Westward Ha!", a 1947 travelogue by the humorist (and New Yorker columnist) S. J. Perelman. I should strap on a GMT while reading it!

The Furies of Calderon is pretty interesting take on typical Fantasy.

I love that all of Sanderson's works take place in the same cosmos! 🤯

That Clive Cussler Special Edition....mmmm...👌🏻

Still want them to do more movies, same cast as Sahara.

I agree the CC special edition is pretty cool.

Yeah, more movies would be fine by me. Sahara wasn’t awful. Raise The Titanic was kinda boring, though. No real action nor comedy.

It’s old and broken, but fits the classics.

Currently reading The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury wishing I could wear my Lucerne Digital Jump Hour. It needs a full service, which I haven't got around to simply because I'm afraid of wrecking something so unique. To me, It's the embodiment of retrofuturism and the 70s era of sci-fi.

The watch and the book combo is super nice. I saw it at a glance and it instantly caught my attention. Great choice!

·

Just found at this is FINALLY gonna come out!! Stupid-Super STOKED!

And watch doesn't really vibe with the steampunk aesthetic, but hey, the watch you have with you, not the one at home..😉

I love this idea! Couple watch pairings with some of the books I’ve been reading recently:

Band of Brothers with a Laco Flieger Pro and Hamilton Khaki Field Auto:

Never Split the Difference (business negotiation book) with a Tudor 1926:

How to Build a Car (legendary F1 car design book) with a Tag Heuer Formula 1 auto:

A friend of mine wrote this sci-fi book about Mars, figure my Speedy is the obvious choice!

I had to take this screenshot from TGV’s Urban Gentry video on the Explorer… the real Bond watch

·

My heading picture is of my Omega No Time to Die and my favorite book The Sympathizer, which is being turned into an HBO show

·

Very cool concept might to get to you in that. Is there any context on how you paird the two together or it is more anything goes? Think and grow rich is my favorite book maybe this custom watch with it?!
