I thinks it’s something like, if you travel a distance in between pushing the pusher and that marker the thing you’re timing is traveling in 1000kph or mph. It’s a tachymeter but I don’t remember if it’s counting in miles or kilometers
I don’t really know how to phrase it in English. But I feel somewhat like having a Homage watch that doesn’t ’take a little inspiration’, but is a complete copy with another name on the dial (pagani design for example) feels very cheap and fake in a negative sense. And almost like “you have low self confidence and have to make up for it and seems cool with a fancy watch, but you are not rich enough and cheat instead”.
And I don’t dislike watches with one or a few parts being similar to other watches. For example my only watch has a bracelet which is very similar to a Rolex president bracelet. I didn’t buy the watch because it’s similar to a Rolex, but I think that style of bracelet looks good on both a Rolex and my watch. But if a watch is basically 99% similar it’s wrong in my opinion to buy it. Both morally and in a legal sense (copyright infringement).
I don’t want to judge anyone for their taste in watches, preferences or financial situations, and my phrasing might be a little bit wonky for someone with English as mothers tongue. But i hope that everyone reading this understand what i try to say and not taking my words to literally. 😄
My biggest ick in watch collecting is people who only buy “homage” watcges that are clearly just copies of for example Rolexes. I think it’s as bad as buying a total fake. And that includes people who mods seikos to look as as a submariner, royal oak etc.
I also think it’s extreme to own more then 15-20 watches. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to enjoy so many watches at the level that I want. I would sell most of a collection at that size and buy fewer watches that I like more.
I would buy the Longines without a doubt. I like both the case, dial and bracelet a lot more and think it’s a better watch overall.
I also think the twelve is to big for me (17cm, 6.5-7 inches). But that’s very subjective and I’m more of a fan of smaller watches 😁
I’m not a fan of chronographs. But the glass box is one of, in not the best looking mechanical chronograph. I would whose it over the Zulu time eight days out of seven!
Ps. It’s funny. I don’t like chronographs, and I don’t like Tag Heuer that much either. But the glass box is one of the watches I would consider in its price range 😁
