My internet research gets confusing, so I’d rather turn to my smart, trusted Crunchers:
I work online; hours of Zoom daily along with much Google-doc’ing after each session. Is it ok to wear my watch-friends? Are the vintage ones in more danger? Or is this just not a big deal?
Thoughts, opinions, tutorials all welcome. And thanks!
My minimalism is fighting it out with my covetousness: enthusiast or collector? My retirement fund looks on in horror. Rara avis, here-- female watch geek-in-(only five years on) training. Photos will...
I'm not sure if I understand the question. If you are asking if your watch will get magnetized through using a computer, the answer is no. If your watch does get magnetized it will run very fast. De-magnetizing a watch is easy and inexpensive. Devices are available for about £10 on ebay, and work perfectly
Demagnetizer cost about 15 $ from aliexpress, ebay or amazon. Also would think that every watchdealer has ability to demagnetize it for you.
If you do work with computer i would advice that if you take watch off for some reason, do not put it on speakers as they have magnets inside.
I recently had to demagnitise a couple of my watches (one was because I stupidly placed it on top of a tablet with a magnetic case).
If you're typing directly on a laptop then maybe take it off. But if you are using a separate keyboard you'll be fine.
As other have said it is very easy to demagnitise a watch. Also pro tip I learnt. Demagnitise the strap buckles. I found mine were very magnitised.

Yep, demagnetize the strap buckles, and also include the spring bars. If you wear your watch on a bracelet, demagnetize the whole bracelet, end links, and clasp. Demagnetize even your spring bar tool.
Don’t worry. The magnetic field generated by a computer is very weak and will not affect a watch you are wearing. As long as you don’t rest your watch on top of your computer for a long period you will be fine.

Yes; you did understand, and thanks! Will check those out.
