SOTC, the THEME and WHATS NEXT
Hey all, this is a follow up to my previous post where I asked myself the question wether the collection was truly finished.
A lot of suggestions where great coming from fellow crunchers, but ultimately wouldn’t fit my theme or (as I found out) my skintone.
The theme I’m working with is that of a
„Fantasy Court“
„The King“ - Omega Seamaster SMP 300M
This one is my crown jewel and the watch I am most confident in, I love wearing it and it proves to be the right choice for me almost everyday :)
„The Queen“ - Grand Seiko SBGM221
The oldest watch in my collection and my first „true“ luxury piece that I got during my watchmaking apprenticeship
„The Knight“ or „The royal guard“ - Longines Spirit Titanium
This is my ultimate tool watch that (I presume) survives even the harshest conditions and offers tremendous value for money (spec wise)
„The Court Magician“ - Jaeger Le Coultre Master Control Date
Originally wanting a Red Reverso, this one came along at an unbeatable price, I got it, had it polished and now it is „the most powerful entity“ at court and the most prestigious Watch I own, flying under the radar. A true „old money“ piece
~What’s next though? ~
I now I technically am missing a prince/princess and that really (for me) has to be a Tudor Prince or a pink dial watch, I am not sure if I’d wear either or those.
I am also missing a Court Jester, here I was thinking to get a Nomos club in a colourful dial Variation.
I do also want to sell my Longines I think, since I’m not the biggest fan of the titanium bracelet or it’s Color.
~ the dilemma~
I will say though, I am incredibly happy to have such a well rounded 4 watch collection, nonetheless I am craving fewer watches. I am heavily debating at the moment to sell off all of them, except the Omega and instead get ONE fantastic piece I can cherish.
I love my watches and what they represent and I wear them. But do I LIKE to wear the majority of them? I actually don’t know.
At the moment I am choosing a watch based on my outfits, not based on what Watch I am in the mood for and I’d like that to change again. I hope that this can be fixed with a new strap and not only by Thanos Snapping my Collection twice but we will see.
The new theme would then be „Royal Couple“ btw

Maybe something of a different shape altogether, like a Hamilton Ventura, matching the fantasy theme as it’s worn by Elvis who’s nickname was the king.
Or maybe
A Rolex candy pink oyster perpetual: the crown and the pink perfectly ties with princess vibes
Or u can even consider
Nomos Club campus in pink to bring both jester and princess vibes

I had the Nomos in mind for the jester vibes and the candy for princess as well, I might even consider a gmt master II bico as the new king, demoting the omega to knight and selling the Longines but that would be an awful lot to achieve the same thing I have now, but slightly more expensive
I love the idea of a red reverso as a wizard haha. The only other thing I can think of for the wizard is something with an aventurine dial.
If you don't want to go with the Tudor prince then the royal may be a good alternative and I love the idea with the Nomos.

I might suggest thinking about a different case shape, something square like a Cartier Tank or a JLC Reverso, or a tonneau shape as your Prince🧐
Might also think about adding a chronograph 🏁like a Senith EP or a Speedy 🤷🏼♂️
You can nail bother areas with something like a Zenith EP Revival as a jester 😉
And a Cartier is always a good idea 😉

I feel like a Tank would be great if I decide to add another role to the theme, like a Royal Treasurer, but I’m not really feeling the prince vibe ( I think a prince needs to be flashy) but I’m feeling the Zenith as a jester
