ITS HAPPENING EVERYWHERE

Last week I saw a post, about a crooked dial On a Hamilton Khaki Field Auto. Today a customer came in with the same exact problem. As you can imagine I was rather stunned and sadly missed out on asking if he was a fellow cruncher but either way, that’s some coincidence!!

Thank you for noting this correctly as a problem. Some makers pretend this is a feature.

Any info from Hamilton about this?

Bit that I know of, only thing that connects these two cases is that they were both purchased around a year ago (late 2022/early 2023) so it might be the issue of a specific bunch

Ah bummer! I used to have this one and sold it and thought about getting the 38mm. Most people think this is a classic of the field watch genre, but between this and the lack of AR coating that reduces legibility, it's kind of missing some key components of what I think the field watch genre should have. Love Hamilton but they might need to take a look at themselves for a bit. Lol

Wonder if Hamilton had a bad batch of corroded metal dial feet/crown/whatever part causing this?

·

Maybe. Or the glue was faulty or something in that range. Omega also had some quality control issues during the pandemic while they were ramping up their numbers. I hope that this is only temporary.

"Step right up! This innovative model converts to a 'driver's' watch..."

They are not problems. They are watches with hidden features.

The complaints about lack of AR on this watch are overrated imo. I own it and aside from the occasional glare, the glass is fine. Now the microscopic 24 hour numerals on the other hand…

Having had both, it's actually a bit better on the 42 than the 38. I think because it doesn't curve as much over that span and the dial is bigger to fit all the numbers. The 38 is a great case size, but it definitely makes the dial hard to read outside. You know, in the field. Lol.

Hot take but I think they should take it out! The 38 murph is perfect in that regard.

I agree, the lack of ar is overrated. It’s good enough outside. I think 24 hour numerals are okay though. Not perfect, but it still gets the job done.

Disgruntled employee? Seems really unbelievable that it would be a mistake. He had to add the dial and set the hands without noticing. Very suspicious... Also as an as forethought I dont hate the look. But it's strange.
