Just got this today!

I just bought this double signed c-case constellation from a fellow enthusiast. It’s my biggest purchase as of now, so I really made sure to have it to mark a special occasion of mine.

I think it’s a wonderful watch, with all parts original including the embossed plexiglass (I didn’t expect that), except for the leather strap, which is understandable. I really hope this‘ll last for years and years to come.

What do you guys think of it? Maybe should I get a nato so I can wear it everyday? Dunno if it’ll look good haha.

Constellations are criminally underrated. Congratulations on a great acquisition. A NATO for weekends would compliment it.

thanks! I have my eye on a black nato with a white stripe on the middle.

Such a classy piece. You could even dress it down with a nice grey or taupe suede strap.

Great piece! Congratulations to your purchase. 168.017 I presume? I think this is a really great Genta design. I’m trying to figure out the right strap for mine (168.029). Leaning towards some exotic skin or grained leather. Right now I have it on a dark brown animal free suede. Not totally happy with that combo. But a suede in the right color as @valleykilmers suggest I think will work great.

Thanks! and yeah it's the 168.017, but what peaked my interest is the added turler-sign haha. And yours is a great piece! though how does the day date function work? because on mine, the quickset date mechanism is rather odd (pull and push to change date).

On the photo is with an alligator strap, and it looks great in black imo. I think a watch as special as the c-case should have its attention on the case and dial, so I suggest something that blends in. So yeah, do get something in black or grey, or other muted colours, but that's just my opinion. Good luck!

I don’t know if it is typically Omega but I have two that change date that way, the 168.029 included. My is not top notch so I have to struggle a bit to make it work. The day is handled independantly.

Such a beautiful timepiece. Congrats! The first proper vintage watch I ever owned was a cushion case Constellation like this. The high quality movement and the elegance of the dial and the unusual case shape are a brilliant combination.

Eeeek...underrated? When I tried to buy one, most sellers overrated and overpriced them. Ended up quitting on the idea.

Don't get a NATO for it... I really like NATO straps, but a NATO wouldn't do this one any favours in terms of appearance. If you like to switch straps often, but aren't keen on damaging the lugs with a spring bar tool, perhaps it'd be good to buy several straps with a quick-change system

I've always found the C-case Constellations to be underrated amongst vintage Omega enthusiasts. Most seem to want the more classic designs of the 1950s with the dog leg lug cases, faceted crowns, pie pan dials, arrow head markers etc. However, I think the later C-case Constellations are a great way to enter into Omega's chronometer grade, top-end dress watch series.

It looks like the ref. 168.017 has a cal. 564 movement, which means the quickset is operated by repeatedly pulling out and pushing in the crown. This is a weird quirk of the Omega cal. 56x and cal 75x movements. Omega movements didn't have a quickset that uses a position on the crown until the 1000 series movements came out in 1968.

Excellent watch by the way! I especially love the Turler signature on the dial!

I see, well thanks for the advice!
